Name a worse midfield duo...

Tbf to the central pairing, whichever pair that is, when the wide men lose it every time they get and hide the rest of the time, a forward line who can't hold it in and two centre half who look like they've never played there before the central midfield pairing probably have to do 5x the work of anyone else in the team.

Newell and Gogic.

Kingsley was marking for the second goal.  Looked like Gordon gestured towards him in complaint.

First goal was a deflection off popescu,  who angled himself like a pinball flipper.   😲

Both are slower than a week in Saughton and care less about The Hearts than I do about hibs!

They mentioned last night that Lee has assisted 14 goals in his 50 games so far in his Hearts career which is more than anyone else in that time. I think it shows how poor our midfield has been, because he’s not great.
I would plump for the panic buys  Whelan and Damour.

Boyce was supposed to be covering the front area and got sucked out for the first goal and left a huge space for the free header. That’s what Gordon was going daft at.

Honestly can barely remember the lead up to the first goal, why was Lee to blame?

He was on the goal scorer and was easily outpaced over a few yards, made a pathetic attempt a challenge.  It was awful.

All anyone has to do is sell him the simplest of dummies and he's left for dead.  My 2 year old granddaughter is faster.

To think that you should compare to other players who have played 50 games not only from Hearts but midfielders from hibs, Aberdeen.

That would then give you some context to then conclude if it's a poor reflection on our midfield or otherwise.

To just think something without context is a bit simple.

And ofc, assists aren't the only measure to use, but if you are using it to make a decision then best get some context or it means nothing.

I agree Whelan and Damour were worse, don't need to go that far back😭😭

Lee goes missing for large parts of the game, and is terrible at defending. He was to blame for the opening goal and possibly the second.

He also can’t take the ball on the turn and drive past a player. So easy to play against for the opposition.

Djoum was a tremendous attacking midfielder turned into a holding midfield player by you know who, and then lost a lot of interest in playing for us, hence he ‘appeared’ to be shite a lot of the time.

Not the problem last night either.

But bash on. Gives you something slagging Hearts.

It was most definitely the problem

He never lost interest at all.

He was asked to play right a lot and that never helped him.

He always gave 100% and in fact was always verging on a red card imo.

He was only shite in some eyes as he never hit enough shots,  scored enough or assisted enough ( direct) and if a player doesn't run about stupid folk call him lazy, it's the default thing here. He was good al round midfielder and was involved in most positive things of our play during a game.

Lee hits shots and assists but is a bit slow and can't go past a player, so some folk think he's shit as well, many say he doesn't try as well- that isn't true either.

Folk think Lee and Halliday are slow yet we had Prince and Gomis in midfield last time in the championship for us... hardly speed merchants!

Haring-Lee with Naismith at 10 has to be the next starting line up, surely.

Only if we need 99 ‘assists’ but virtually no goals.
