Liam Boyce

Despite the 2 missed sitters (Lee & Boyce), the team played well.  The passing was excellent the whole game and when we lost the ball, our players closed them down until we wont back.    Great to see shots on target and goals, plus several near things.   Bonus to see Dunfermline lose too.   That's us a quarter of the way through the campaign ...... 4 point lead.  So far so good. 👍 😀

Didn't look too happy at the end.

Probably raging that he missed out on his hatrick with that terrible miss.

Hopefully the two goals will give him a boost though.

Surprise surprise, we put 2 good balls into the box and Boyce gets a double. Decent crosses have been few and far between.

Just don't let him take penalties. (Unless it's v hibs)

Two 6 yard goals, should have been 3.

That's where I want him, in the box.

He's been far too deep getting involved elsewhere. We need him as a poacher.

He's capable of scoring 20+ in this division.

If you were him you’d also be raging at full time. He missed a total sitter and was immediately trying to get the ball back because there was about a minute left.

Give me a striker that is furious at full time because he didn’t score three over Uche any day.

Walker, Boyce and Naismith now stepping up a notch after rightly being criticised a few weeks back .

Fair play to them and long may it continue.

Diadora Van Basten

He looked frustrated on a number of occasions when crosses were going over his head.

I am sure there was an offside chance he snatched at as well.

Today was good but I still don’t think he’s firing on all cylinders yet.

This , when Boyce comes too deep it loses the hole shape of the team on the attack he is box player and good at it .

Next week would be a fantastic time to start firing on all cylinders then

Today, I felt we were going to get at least 5. It was good to get some confidence in front of goal.

We will get chances to score next week, very few, but they will get them.

We HAVE to take them and not squander.

I  tend to agree, about the snatched chances. But if two goals and assists is him not firing on all cylinders, I'll take that all day long.

Will be well up for it next week after bagging a couple of goals ( should have been 3, can see why he would not be happy at the end )

Quick check of BBC stats shows that he is the joint top scorer in the league now on four goals, with the second highest assists (three).

Olly Lee out on his own with five assists already.

He certainly looked angry at the end.

That's maybe not a bad thing though, shows how much he wanted the hatrick.

Delighted he has found his shooting boots again before the cup final, Well done LB. Hopefully you can take at least 1 chance next weekend.

Not penalties, please

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Boyce grabbed the winner on Sunday ??

Personally I don't care who gets it. If it's a defection off a passing seagull from a Celtic goal-line clearance, that'll do me.

If our winning goal is anything like this then fine by me:-

Goals in a Scottish Cup semi final and final. Last two players to do that for us were Stephane Adam and Rudi Skacel. Shame he couldn’t get a winner’s medal to go along with a brilliant second half performance.

Hopefully folk lay off him now. Six goals in nine games is a good return.

Hopefully he isn’t injured. Is that why he came off??
Be good to see him fire another couple in on Boxing Day

I thought he must have been injured as he was doing great at holding up the ball.

As you say fingers crossed he’s available for Boxing Day.

Agreed. That’s him and Naismith both hitting a bit of form now. If we could win our next 4 league games there’ll be a gap

opening up as the other sides will drop points to each other over the holidays.

Thought he was limping after the overhead kick attempt. Ran himself into the ground.

The Treasurer

I thought Boyce worked his socks off yesterday but, most crucially, he seems to be getting into the box more in the last few games where he is at his best.

Looked great yesterday I thought. Hopefully any injury is very short term.

Gimme an H...

Was gripping his hammy before he went off. He's played a lot of football recently and runs himself into the ground every game. Hopefully just a cramp.

I think he tweaked something with the attempted overhead hook into the box. Hopefully nothing too major.

Yes, looked hamstring to me. Could do with another forward that can hold ball up. That's why Stewart from Ross County would be good singing. But loan for just now would be good. Got to be some striker down south worth a loan for a few months.

Been critical of Boyce in recent weeks. Showed his class yesterday with a great performance.  Gave everything, hopefully just a niggle from working so hard and he'll be fit for Saturday.

He was clearly limping before coming off and when trudging off into the stand...

Anyone got his goals to game stats since joining?

After the QOTS game, a poster with a history of being ITK alluded to Boyce not being happy at the club but wouldn't say anymore in the week before a cup final. Now the final is over, any chance of coming out with it now?
