Here is what December's 'On this Day' looks like. Hopefully a new entry for December 20th in next year's calendar.

NB Image was taken with my phone  so some shadowing.

Fantastic idea. Can't see the other half appreciating it though

:sadrobbo:

Buy it for yourself and feel all fuzzy inside when you realise how wonderful it is to support Hearts Heritage (as well as everything else you support and contribute to of course)

Notice on 16th October, Tommy Veitch died on his 38th birthday. Wasn't aware of that, to be born and die on the same day is extremely unusual, anyone know the cause of his death so young?

I'm really sorry to hear that.  Quite apart from the date issue, Tommy Veitch was a wholehearted player who maximised his abilities on the part.

It's such a pity his grave in the Portobello graveyard, a plate roughly 6" by 8" is so small it's a task to find within the Portobello/Joppa graveyard. Cup winner, League championship winner, Scotland International, how easy his achievements are easily forgotten sadly, but remembered & honoured by his family at least.

On retirement through injury at Blackburn Rovers Harry worked the family business with fishing and pleasure boats at Portobello. Returning after injury to play again for Hearts, then on loan to Celtic.
