BM1874
Anyone had the “privilege”? split with the ex, and have the ring, went to a couple of pawnbrokers (ramsdens etc) who quoted silly Low fee but both advised going private. any pointers towards exactly where to go would be great. not looking for a fortune but enough to recoup some of the fee thanks in advance

Walter Payton
I think @kearney19 had a thread on here years ago about selling his ring He might be able to assist with advice.
Jamstomorrow
Get it authenticated by a Jeweller (get paperwork) and try selling on Ebay.
Sooperstar
An independent jeweller must be the best place for such things? When I say must what I mean is, that would be my best guess.
Greedy Jambo
Can you not just take it back to the shop you got it and explain the situation? Take 70% for what you paid for it or something. Or is that a crazy idea 🤷♀️ Mind you, it'll probably be shut won't it. Lovecraft
A dusty ring is 100% a good reason to split up.
Cruyff
Melt it down and sell the diamond and gold separately. 🤷

IronJambo
Is it a decent ring or an Elizabeth Duke jobby with a bit shattered glass in it? We have to get my wife's engagement ring valued every 5 years for insurance purposes and it had doubled in value the last time round at 7 years old or so. Edit: meant to add, you might be quids in. BM1874
Ring was accepted 6 years ago, we split up, I got it back after and don’t want it or the memories associated with it but wouldn’t mind recouping some of the outlay back
