Truly hope it's a hoax, Distraught if true.

Big Zal was a colossus of that difficult era for the club, forget the big money signings, big names. Zal gave everything for the club and truly was a hero for the club, maybe not here long enough to be classed as a legend but he was approaching that.

MARIUS ŽALIŪKAS HAS GOED TO ETERNAL RELIEF
Marius Žaliūkas, a long-term defender of the national team and the legendary Lithuanian footballer, went on eternal rest. The footballer was just 36 years old.
Marius Žaliūkas represented the Lithuanian national team from 2006 to 2016 and managed to score one goal. Marius inspired countless young footballers, and his contribution to Lithuanian football will never be forgotten.
During his excellent career, the player represented FBK Kaunas, Kauno Inkaro, Šilutė, Edinburgh Hearts, Glasgow Rangers, Leeds United and Vilnius Žalgiris clubs.
On behalf of the Lithuanian football community, we express our deepest condolences to Marius' family.
Farewell to the player will take place at the funeral home "Rimtis" (A. Juozapavičiaus ave. 1, Kaunas) on November 4 from 16:00. until 20:00 and on November 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The funeral will take place on November 5 at 1:30 p.m. Romainiai in 1 cemetery.

Grew into a great player and an excellent cup winning captain.

😭 BBC reporting it now. No way, gutted. This game means nothing now. RiP Big Z! Forever in our hearts. Best captain we've had for a long time.
