We can never tell how long they will last. Hopefully minimal but same will happen again when people get out unless there’s a vaccine. That’s looking like a month or two away. Didn’t know about heightened tensions, but really dire to be around what’s happening. We booked up to return to Nice in April. We’ll see how that works out nearer the time. Take care. Pasquale for King
No such thing as early. You used to be able to drink until 3am in a club, then go to a casino then to whatever pub opened early. The good old days, or early 2020 if you prefer. Phage
I'd say 5am. Penny Blacks, place halfway down Leith Walk and a few others. Generally (20 years ago) you'd have 2 hours to munch your kebab/burger and finish off the pre-pub bottles before you could get back out there. Long time since I was involved in that madness. That would be the Old Salt on Leith Walk. When I worked at Shrubhill bus garage I used to get sent over by the gaffer at 7.30am to drag the departments resident alcoholic out of the place. There used to be loads at the bottom of Leith with early opening to fuel the docks nightshift finishing. The Corn Exchange was always a good one. Tommy Youngers place (now the Harp and Castle) used to open early and I remember the all night raves at Ingliston used to come back there in the morning. Surreal standing at a bus stop first thing in the morning watching a rave continue in a pub. Edited October 30, 2020 by Tazio
