I'm not posting details on a thread presumably started to mourn his passing mate but a Google search of "Frank Bough scandal" will fill in the gaps for anyone interested.

That's the sad thing about Frank Bough, he is remembered for how his career ended most.

Ah... the days of Grandstand and World of Sport.

Blazed the trail for Angus Deayton.

Gave the rest of us some hope.

RIP Frank.

Liked to be chained to a radiator, unlike Terry Waite, who didnt.

Is this the best post ever on Kickback? Not for me to say but I think you'd be hard pushed to find a better one.  Nearly choked on my coffee!

Apparently his favourite song was Glen Frey's biggest hit.

RIP Frank.

Looking back, the scandal which ended his career seems quite mild, in the light of the yewtree stuff. I was surprised when I saw that he was only about 50 when he started on Breakfast Time. He looked a whole lot older.

It was a shock at the time and absolutely contrary to the character portrayed on screen. He used to do the BBC Holiday programme too iirc with his wife Nesta so his reputation was his selling point on screen and was sensible, serious, reliable Home counties hubbie. You're right though jeezo he did always look old ..... drugs and hookers will do that to a man 🙂

In case you haven't followed bhb's link, and I hope you haven't, it was The Heat is On.

Sounds like the BBC holiday programme wasn't the only thing he did, kinky old sod.

Sorry Frank pal, if you're watching.

I vividly remember as a kid, during the half-time debate of a random World Cup game which he was presenting, one of the pundits suddenly asked "What do you think Frank?" and when the camera quickly darted to him he had a finger up one nostril. It was only years later I realised that:

A. It was probably a deliberate set-up by the pundit, and

B. He wasn't necessarily digging in there for what the child-me had thought he was rooting around for!

I remember on Shooting Stars they spelled his name as Bof.  I think he found it quite funny but also wondered what the **** was going on.
