Freedom of speech is just a catchphrase that people rally around without thinking about what it means, why it doesn't really exist, never has, never will. And anyway he's nearly right, the Mail is cancer and needs to die IMO.

Taffin
Disappointed to read he's bought up multiple properties. Private ownership of multiple properties you don't need is partly why we need the other initiatives he's campaigning for imo. Seems a bit hypocritical and champagne socialist-y. That said, if he's bought them for others (inc his family) to live in rather than as a buy to let investment type thing, then absolutely good on him. I get what you're saying but the lack of affordable housing stock is the government's fault, no one else's. We also have no idea what he's planning but given his past and his public views, it seems pretty unlikely he'll be doing anything that negatively impacts those on the lower rungs of society. It's supply and demand, if people restrict the supply, it forces the prices up. Your right, another solution is to build more houses which sits with the government, but the other solution is to not focus the existing resources all into the hands of the few. I'm not against it but it's a bit rich to stand up as a social justice warrior whilst hoovering up property which will negatively impact the lower rings of society whether he intends to or not I wonder what his response would be if people bought up all the resources for food he wants to provide and forced their price up? Oh wait, we already know, he's against it and good on him but it also should apply to houses imo.

The tories selling social housing and not replacing it has caused this problem

Quite apart from anything else it seems really really unlikely that he's turned all Dick Dastardly after recent events.
