Marian Kello saving that penalty was special. As though the great man himself was in goals.

It was like it was meant to be. I have a video of that aswell, from behind the goals. But I can't find it!

That was the greatest goal celebration I’ve ever seen, live, in all my 50+ years of following Hearts. It will be talked about for years to come.
All the better that it was Celtic fans who had to watch it. Arguably the best and most meaningful result I’ve seen Hearts achieve along with the final in 1998.

Especially from a lad who was at Hearts as a child , treated badly by the weedgie tramps.

A 4-2 win on 1st August 1970, I was two days old. Attendance was 7,032 according to London Hearts. Looks bigger in the bits we can see.

This was back in the days when crowds moved around the ground after half time. Possibly the School End is empty.

Just a thought.

Two photos from a camera that was until a couple of years ago dumped in my attic - undeveloped !

I'd forgotten what was on it - it was that fateful day - :(

Wow.

You must have been stood, or sat, very close to where I was. I would have been just a few metres to the left of where those photos were taken from. I was sitting up on the wall leaning against one of the advertising boards.

That day will go with me to my grave. I've had many bad days in my life since that day, but if anyone ever asks me what the worst day of my life was, I still say it was that day. Even as a ten year old boy it was absolutely haunting. I cried so much.

One time me and a bunch of mates went in to Jennie Ha's in the High Street and Dave Clunie was working behind the bar. The guy getting the round up made conversation "Have you caught up with Arthur Duncan yet?". Goes Clunie "Right you lot, you're barred - OUT!".  😄

Did he not have a pub in Rose St in the 80s?

Saw him play for us at Muirton Park ... (it finished 3-3 I think we were behind) the songs still ring in my ears ...

”oh oh oh Ernie Ernie I’d walk a million miles for one of your goals oh Ernie ...”

“Erie Ernie Winchester Ernie Winchester...”

Happy days although I don’t think he scored but he did lead the line well!

Beautiful photo! But what’s with the white wall (over Clunies right shoulder) at the back of the terrace at the school end? I don’t remember that!

That's what I thought, but it's a pub I don't recall ever being in.

In the late 80s Willie Irvine had in there too, Irish name escaping me.

Used to have a laugh with him.
