“Yes, it’s going to be expensive but the cost should be more than covered by the money these clubs receive for taking part in the Betfred Cup. The feeling is there is really no other way around it.”

Cool, so the money received from the BetFred cup covers the Coronavirus testing. Great...and the players wages are covered by...??

The Stenhousemuir Chairman predicted a while back that some lower league teams would withdraw from the Betfred cup because they couldn’t afford to take part.

The opportunity was there to prevent that and to secure the future for all full time clubs. Totally scuppered by clowns and people who could not run a tea shop. The way this whole crisis has been handled has been shambolic and amateurish. Anywhere else the people who had been responsible for the mess would have been lambasted in the media and would have been chased out of office.  Not here though.

I am still confused as to why St Mirren were forced to play on Saturday yet Aberdeen and Celtic were allowed to postpone!

Every time something comes up its like a huge suprise to them, the kind of thing that nobody can predict, so they say they take each case on its merrits, except we have all been telling all of this for months.

Celtic and Aberdeen should have conceded the points because their players broke the rules rather than waiting for a fit again squad.

Hamilton and St Mirren theses games and future like it because UEFA stated the 13 player rule,  Tough if its a goalkeeper (emergency loans can now apply).

But they need to ask all clubs these questions 2 months ago:

Can you complete the season BCD for a whole year?

Can you play with a reduced capacity?

Can you afford testing twice weekly for a whole year.

Can you allow fans in based on NOT travelling >20 miles

Can your fans provide covid testing on their own

Can you temperature check all fans prior to entry

I bet some clubs will withdraw from the betfred, they will all start the league, but a lot will be in trouble at or around christmas

Some wont complete the season.  Only the top 12 will be preserved at all costs, to preserve the precious TV deal

They will vote to keep us down and preserve the top 12

We will be back in court

We will withdraw from the SFA

We will win the court case as we are no longer required to comply with the SFA rules

There will be reconstruction as there will only be 1 league of 20, or 2 of 10, as everybody else will mothball

The Government made it clear that they 'don't expect to see those (Aberdeen and Celtic) games going ahead' so it was taken out of the SPFL's hands.

Something the SPFL were glad about,  letting somebody esle make the decisions.  But they should NOT have been played and a 3-0 win award to the other teams......Only as it was the players fault and as such the clubs fault.  Hamiltons players have caught the virus by normal approved behavour, but the 13 player rule is in play.  However I bet celtic get their games postponed, and Gilmour will be proved right!

The only answer to that is because it suited Celtic for there game against them tonight. It’s all about Celtic these days and what they need.

Which of course begs the question of the testing process

I presume the initial tests are done privately with follow ups via NHS.

The trust in testing is going to pot

No testing process is perfect but 3 out of 3 wrongs suggests something might well be askew.

Might have been right at the time and the NHS test is saying they dont have it anymore, or even the NHS test could be bollox

The only thing you can trust is if you have more than one symtom.  But this is going to generate a shitstorm the first time a Celtic player gets tested possitive and the NHS test is not! and they have had to self iscolate for naffall and miss matches.

Still £200 per test and it might as well be a finger up your arse for all the use?

Is Marvin Bartley doing the testing now?

A lot of supposition there. They voted to call the league and in my book no amount of trying to rectify it by voting to re-organise the leagues makes up for it. Life may well be nuanced but they made a black and white decision knowing it would **** up three clubs financially and several others from a sporting integrity point of view. I hope they cease to exist sooner rather than later. If you want to make excuses for them then bash on.

Once my blood stop boiling, the decision to call the league when they did, while not in Hearts favour, the use of PPG was the best solution to determine league places. However the SFA/SPFL f*ked it all up by cancelling the Play-offs.  For the lower leagues these could have been played at beginning of October before the League Cup started.  The only issue was how to handle play-off for Championship.
