Remember when there was unrealistic talk about Moyes coming to Tynecastle and a good few said he was finished?

Sticky start, but has now stamped his mark on the team and there they are in top 4.  Incredible!

Sticky start? What you on about? They were heading for relegation before he took over.

The folk saying no to Moyes (despite it being fantasy)  were lunatics.

in his first 12 games (league only) when he took over he won 2, lost 8 and drew 2. that could be seen as a sticky start

Harsh to give foul by McTominay?

Thought that was very harsh. Son went down like a sack of spuds. Staying down for ages after it too to reinforce it.

Seemed harsh given how the move ended but it did look deliberate to keep Son off him.  It was too obvious a flick out.  I think players have got away with this type of stuff for years.

Gazza used to push people in the face as he went on dribbles and never got pulled up for it.

Clear foul. If you start swinging an arm like that and catch someone it’s a foul.

Agreed. Also I thought he was very lucky to stay on the park.

He saved them but it was touch and go and few predicted he would turn it around to the extent he has and I stick by what was said on here.

But if you are the one trying to grab hold of a player as he gets away from you there is no 'penalty'

Harsh to knock that goal off for an accidental incident

Very good goal by Spurs to take the lead though

Quite harsh, yes. I'm more concerned with the behaviour of Son in the incident though. Lightly flicked in the face and he's gone down as if he's taken one right in the face from Mike Tyson. Then he's decided to stay on the deck for as long as it takes for the referee to decide he was the victim of a vicious assault. It's not a good example to be setting young players.

In what way was in accidental? What else was he trying to do other than fend off Son with his hand?

Son doesn't go down screaming its not given.

Mark Hughes and Gary Stevens on Malaysia TV say no foul.

No ex pro would see that as a foul

It's an absolute farce

It's a bit harsh to call it a sticky start when they were flirting wildly with relegation before he came in. They were dreadfully unlucky in many of those matches as well as anyone that had watched them would know. They improved steadily.

Taking account more generally in a lot of incidents including VAR if you are fouled, scream like you've been stabbed and roll around. If you don't do that it's more likely you won't get a foul including penalties.

Referees just as much to blame as players.

Nonsense, its accidental and happened because Son was trying to foul McT. Shambles of a decision coupled with the Newcastle came where Longstaff took a boot full speed to the head, the decision - nothing...

Longstaff got 2 high boots to the head today.

One in the penalty area - no foul

One outside the penalty area - foul

He swung his arm and that’s all there is to it. The VAR gave their explanation clearly.

Son recovered well from life threatening injury to score 5 minutes later.

Suppose we should be relieved. Only one funeral this week.

Even talking pre-VAR you'd see this kind of thing from all sorts of players. It's just a form of cheating and it sets a dreadful example for young players coming through. Slightest contact, just go down as if you've been shot.

Was the foul indirect?

VAR said it was accidental. Why is priority given to that over Son who was deliberately trying to foul McT.  If that was chalked off for Hearts I'm sure your opinion would differ.

High boot without danger of hurting is indirect free kick. No penalty.

Every expert thought it should've been a penalty.

The point is how can you have the same incident but a different decision.

And VAR didn't give a penalty because at most it was indirect free kick.

All the pundits say it should've been a penalty.  No mention of indirect free kicks

VAR gave nothing for the one in the penalty area.

Nothing- no foul, no indirect free kick, no penalty, nothing despite the boot being up above Longstaff's eyebrows.

Also for a man of his age, he’s still running them ragged after 90+minutes.

Malinga the Swinga

Sheffield United are absolute pish. With Heckingbottom in charge, they look like losing every match they play. Arsenal, resting loads of players, still strolled past them.

Unfortunately, Sheffield United are just suffering from "their time in the Premiership" bring up. It happens to almost every team that comes up that doesn't invest heavily, like Leicester have over the years.  Their wee purple patch season is done and dusted, and this year has been predictable to say the least. They will likely flit in and out over the next decade, being too good for the Championship, but not enough for the Premiership.

How a team can be happy to stick with a player like McBurnie up front in the Top Flight is beyond me. No statement of intent, and very little sympathy as a result.
