"just" a point !!!

It's West Ham you're talking about.

Guaranteed it won't be straightforward

You’ve suffered. It’s hard to be an Irons optimist ain’t it? 😀

For West Ham not to qualify for Europe

1. Tottenham need to beat Leicester

2. West Ham lose, Everton win and a 9 goal swing

eg Man City 0 Everton 5 and West Ham 0 Southampton 4.

On second thoughts it's more or less impossible to mess it up

So - great to be back at a football match last night (Palace-Arsenal). Decent game and thought we would hold out for a draw to give Roy a good send-off but wasn't to be. Atmosphere was good even though ground was only 25% full and, boy, was it good to give the opposition players some abuse, even through a facemask! Interestingly, the Fanatics weren't out in force and no banners or drum (not sure if that was their choice or the clubs).

Match experience was fine. Match tickets specified entry times in order to stagger the arrival of supporters. Both myself and my son were late for our entry times but no trouble getting into ground. Food and drink outlets were open though no alcohol on sale (presumably not an issue for you guys at Tynecastle). Stewards were out in force but were pretty relaxed. I saw groups of people sitting together (not sure they were in the same social bubbles) and quite a few people without facemasks. I reckon they were leaving it to people to decide themselves what level of risk they were prepared to take (unless there was serious trouble in which case they would intervene).

Overall, an enjoyable experience (apart from the defeat!) and I wouldn't hesitate to go back under similar circumstances, though hopefully we won't need to worry about that next season.

Thanks for that.

How was getting out the stadium, normal or was that staggered too?

Was it your normal seat or was it a draw type thing?

Would like to see him at Liverpool in a swap plus cash for Mane. If he moves it's going to have to involve other players to bring the fee down.

Quite possibly

They are, but Leicester should never have given them a chance. Second year in a row it's happened.

Liverpool have of course, benefitted from some extremely generous refereeing decisions, especially against WBA.

Getting out of stadium was fine. We waited for Roy's farewell speech and players' lap of honour (dishonour?!) and left after that but no problems. We weren't allocated our normal seats but, when purchasing tickets, I could view a plan of the ground and select the seats I wanted, so ours were very close to our normal seats (first come, first served).

Have seen Twitter reports today of a few Arsenal supporters in the stand opposite ours celebrating the late Arsenal goals. I suppose that is a risk when no away supporters are allowed entry, but asking for trouble and I blame the home supporters who 'passed on' these tickets.

It’s daft to sell your tickets on as the club would know who it was, not exactly desperate to see the team clearly.
Good to know, cheers.

🤣Insanity from Brentford , every player within twenty yards of the Bournemouth goal 5mins in but only 1-0 down. Suicidal and unnecessary. Long way back now.

The irony (pun) that the most famous West Ham fan was played by a fanatical Spurs fan.

How does Toney get booked when Begovic chases after him and wrestles the ball from him ?!

There’s always going to be needle in a match with so much money riding on it. I’m sure players on both sides will be playing for hefty bonuses.

Anyone know whats with the crazy coloured seats?

The theory is that if a ground isn’t full it doesn’t look as bad without vast swathes of seats in a single colour.

🤣  just as well Toney didnt join Celtic. He'd have 100 pens a season with the gusts of winds up here.

Can you imagine that being one of our players. Tynie would burn.

Begovic looks a bit of a liability today
