Today shows the power of VAR. All penalties/ non-penalties and off side goals correctly called.

Fernandes getting lots of credit for the penalty. Also a great pass to Rashford for their second. But he seems to be pretty terrible with any defensive duties. He is at fault for both Brighton goals.

Then the Everton game showed the issue with it

Lampard has spent 220million and he still chooses Alonso, Christensen and Abraham.

He should be scrutinized

the problem they had last season was heir defence. he has signed a 35 year old brazilian and seems to have fallen out with their best CH rudiger. They are turning into arsenal at the end of wengers reign. can be good going forward but are weak at the back

I’ve got a nice 12/1 bet on all the EPL teams scoring in today’s matches. I though West Brom would be the ones to blow it, not Chelsea..

There you go

Poor decision there. Never a penalty.

Shocker. It’s happening nearly every game down there now, huge amounts of penalties given this season compared to any other in the past.

Absolutely killing the game

Surely the refs know enough about the game to apply a degree of common sense.

It goes to show how out of touch the authorities are with actually playing football. Are we expecting to see corners with a dozen players all jumping up in the air with their hands held by their sides?

Serious question, have the people making these decisions ever played football at a decent level?

I very much doubt it.

Great performance from Leeds today. Some good goalkeeping, the ability to pass and move even in tightest of corners will serve them well.

Something Scottish teams are afraid to do, really no excuse when no spectators are in not to

Just came on to share something else but since it's been mentioned, one of the saves of the season. And the goal.

Incredible save, lightning reflex and athletic ability

City's defence all over the place - you would have thought they would have fixed that before the season started.

They won't win the league with defenders like that.

£41m for a boy from Bournemouth.  Madness.

Guardiola is a ridiculously good coach but it feels as if he’s lost the plot at City. Complicating his thinking, not even remotely getting basics right. That’s a shocking result today

City defenders are ****ing clowns.  3 penalties conceded for the same thing.

Shambles

What are they thinking?

I really hope none of the so called bigger teams take notice of Klich. What a player he is.

Some calling for his (Pip's) head now on unsocial media I'm led to believe.

He’s doing a pretty average job. His team haven’t been able to defend for about 18 months now. He constantly makes a mess of the Champions League and nothing about City’s recruitment says ‘European domination”. I like Ake but £40m? That’s absolutely top whack for him. Guardiola’s lost David Silva and Aguero won’t be far behind. Be surprised if he wins the league or the Champions League before he leaves, which will be at the end of this season at the latest.

A shame because he built a machine of a team there but it’s been poorly, poorly managed and maintained for a while.

You can see why City are about to splash out £50 million or so on a centre back today/tomorrow

You have to hand it to Vardy who seems to be like a fine wine and Leicester have made a good start to the season as well

It's early and too soon to write teams off especially City with their track record and to be fair a real injury crisis at present

Everton, Leicester and Arsenal all started well though with hope for their fans

Of course on a personal level I hope Liverpool maintain their form and win the English league once more....it will be interesting tomorrow night when Arsenal come calling

Was it Heckingbottom who deemed him not good enough?

Mind you, Bielsa has had that effect on a few of them. Ayling is another.

Ah yes, remember him replacing Monk.  Didn’t mind him at first tbh but far too big a job for him.
