St Mirren player tests positive for Covid - Zlamal signs on loan

According to BBC, a first team player is self isolating after testing positive and won't play against Hibs on Saturday. Be interesting to see if we are told how he contracted it, if there's any repercussion on the club/player.

And did he play in the friendly against us?

If he’s been training with the rest of the team are they all goosed?

Would have thought the full team would have to isolate also given Aberdeen had to with positive players?

No idea, report didn't say who it was but I'm sure it will come out.

Yes. But if he has been tested after a training session and prior to the next then potentially only he will be told to self isolate with the rest of the players all tested again additionally and immediately as a precaution.

It was on TV that the game might be off because of this.......   Fixed odds are quite poor this weekend, so I was going to take Hibs even money... Still not clear if games on😷

Jak Alnwick apparently the one whose tested positive bit of a blow for them as he has performed well over the first few games.

this is going to happen now and again. players are going to catch Covid-19 from their children or another family member. we need to just get used to this highly infectious disease. just try and be careful out there people.

If COVID and the restrictions imposed on Joe Public are to be taken seriously then this game has to be called off.

If he has caught it from a family member then that is unfortunate but is bound to happen.

However it appears in this case a Hamilton player is also infected after coming into contact with the midden player, so that would maybe suggest they have been socialising in some way which I thought was against the new rules/guidelines.

Apparently they are flatmates.

BUBBLE, BUBBLE, TOIL & TROUBLE

Paisley is in Renfrewshire which is under extended restrictions.  I would expect all those who have been in contact with the player to go into isolation.

They wont get their game postponed for two cases.  They will have to take their medicine.  I think in fairness they should release the players names, for health protection purposes,to avoid the spread.

Instead, they won't, it's being held back for tactical reason, shite bags.  Scared to lose.

They released his name because it was being spread around twitter, so they said there was no point trying to keep it secret.

Alnwick(midden) hodson of Hamilton.

The Future's Maroon

Without being how I want to be (a dick) about it and laugh at these players, I hope they and their families are ok in the end.

As for their clubs (now being the dick as aforementioned), I hope they suffer, get punished and die as a result.

If a Hearts player tests positive, Doncaster will probably turn up with an AK47 and blow his brains out.  Lawell told him not to worry when it's one of his Celtic pals.

So st midden and Hamilton ,or their players, have done nothing wrong but will have to play games with under strength teams. The sheep and sellik broke the rules but play all games with full strength teams.

Aye that seems fair

Are we sure those players did nothing wrong?

But yes, the league had months to put together rules and guidelines for this but, as usual, they make it up case by case and dependent on the club involved.

Surely the St Midden game needs pulled now.

celtic and Aberdeen were given time to recover to full strength after their incidents. Surely there’s not favouritism in Scottish football?

I think players getting Covid is expected and, depending on the scale/nature, won’t result in cancellations.

Aberdeen signed a player - McCrorie to strengthen for their rearranged game versus St Johnstone.

Now Doncaster blowing his brains out sounds good to me.

EUFA said the Czech Republic had to play as long as they could muster up 13 players & a goalkeeper so surely this rule should apply to all teams. Have the SPFL actually got any rules and procedures in place for these eventualities or are they going to keep just making it up as they go along?

The SFA/SPFL will probably say he got it from a Hearts player when they played us in that friendly and fine us. 😍

As always they just make it up as they go along heavily influenced by Lawell.
