Like many he was pushed back to soon. His reading of the game was superb as you would expect with someone who had played at that level. He was light years ahead of Kitchen. Pallardo due to his injuries and age was very poor in his limited appearances in the top flight for us, really good in the championship tho. Kitchen was better for us imo in teh top flight. Btw the guy mentioning the t-shirts that's a good point . 3 captains in one season, part of our problems that season
Jack Torrance
He's on over £65k salary at Galaxy 😲 That must be about £2k per point.

Guest ToqueJambo
As part of a midfield with Djoum, Cowie and Walker, and with Calum P rampaging up the right Kitchen was a really solid player for us when we got 3rd then looked to be heading for at minimum 3rd the following season. Then Ian Cathro happened. Kitchen offered next to nothing in a creative or attacking sense, so when Walker and Djoum went off the boil and Paterson got injured, he wasn't nearly as effective. Team game. Kitchen is an effective cog, good at what he did.

NotTheHoople
Thought Kitchen was a decent defensive midfielder with a knack for spotting danger and a very good tackler. Unfortunately, whether it was natural instinct or poor coaching in his youth, he never got into the habit of taking the ball on the half-turn, it was always square on. This hindered his ability on the ball and meant he had to swivel when he had control of the ball rather than before it came, making him more susceptible to pressing from opponents. He was often closed down before he turned or the ball was passed straight back to where it came, making him seen a very negative player.
