Scottish football is plummeting at an alarming rate. Not that I watched tonight but I could imagine how bad it was. I don’t really want to watch other games but I did catch some of the Killie v Celtic game flicking through the channels on Sunday. Football is becoming stale. Killie looked awful first half but did attempt to play some football in the second. Celtic were pedestrian. Predictable football and if you have some stanes and put the two posers for them at the back under pressure, they look ordinary. Admittedly, I’m coming from a frustrated Hearts angle. I think the market we can shop in is shrinking and players we could get 15,20 years ago are now being drawn elsewhere because of money. I think we are fighting our demons when it comes to expectations of Hearts players. Maybe I/we all just have to accept it, accept players just won’t be as good but I hate doing that. It’s at an all time low I’m afraid, hopefully we can do better now but looking at the squad Neilson assembled at 133% wages to turnover ratio its slightly worrying. I was obviously hoping Utd would best them but they were poor. I was in the Tynecastle Arms watching it, went to the toilet and heard a roar. Was shocked to see Hibs had scored, but it explained why the six ****ers in the corner were giving me dirty looks with a Hearts T-shirt on. Robbie is quietly clearing the deadwood. He knows how to build a team. I have no doubt that he will build a cohesive (what we have sorely missed) team and get us promoted.
