Who are Raith Rovers’ 2 games in hand against? Hearts will need to get the finger out in case they win them both. Last game is away to them.

Crazy that we are having to be, even a little, concerned about Raith Rovers.

All the challengers are playing each other in the next few weeks, so unless some one wins them all we should be in the clear!!!

Raith V Dunfermline in mid week.

Dundee V ICT in midweek.

Dunfermline V Dundee the following midweek.

By the time these games are played it could be all over????

We can really hurt Dundee on Saturday. Put them as outsiders even for a play off.

Can't see any team below us reaching 50 points.

We already have 39 with 9 to play so should be okay.

Would be nice to get some form going, though, to just remove any doubt.

Vital that we beat Dundee and Ayr the next couple of Saturday's.

For this forums collective state of mind, if nothing else.

So Wighton hasn't turned Dunfermline into the ultimate championship title winning team.

Who would have funk it?

Here’s our games in March - no reason we can’t win all these - I think! 🙄

Rovers 2 games at home vs Ayr & ICT

Pars 1 game at home vs Dundee

Dundee 2 games at home vs ICT & Ayr and 1 away at Dunfermline

ICT 1 game at home vs Morton and 2 away at Dundee & Rovers

So in short, all have games which could "hurt" each other to the benefit of HMFC.

In reality, we really should not be looking over our shoulder on days like today & the above. We need to make March count with 3 out of 4 games at home vs Dundee, Ayr & Queens with Arbroath away.

No excuses, pitch, ref, crucial game, etc.......just be positive & win them!!

PS Robbie. Can we score the 1st goal in the game for a change to avoid chasing our tails?

If Raith and pars share the points on Friday and we beat Dundee on Saturday it’s pretty much over. 6 points behind isn’t too big a hurdle of our form worsens but any more is too big an ask for the chasers.

That is a huge if. Who are we going to beat playing the way we are. Unless our stubborn managed changes the system it will be the same shite in every match. What  will get us over the line is the other teams failure to string wins together most likely.

We have only won one of our last 3 home games. Given the quality of opposition this is not good form.

We don't play with two holding midfielders tho?

Irving isn't a holding midfielder, is he?

The Irish lad definitely isn't.

Lee wasn't.

Even Haliday isn't an out and out. Holding midfielder.

Haring is the only true holding midfielder we have imo.

We can't have played two "holding" midfielders, as in Haring and Haliday often?

Yeah,  but the way we play, all our midfield are holding midfielders,  they never get forward, to support the front players, that's the point.

I don't care what others say. I am not comfortable only being potentially 6 points ahead consideration to our current form and the fact we have been beaten by all the teams who might challenge us.

We have no fight and I don't trust our  bunch to turn it on if the need to. The are on their holidays already

Didn’t we also beat the teams who might “challenge” us?

My point was it's not a massive leap to think we are capable of losing a must win game or two against these teams

We will win the league. Will it be won the way we all hoped? No but this season has been as un-normal as has ever been. Next seasons team will not be this seasons. Way to many posters are acting like we should be winning just because of our name. OF mentality. Weird that the opposition turns up every game, home or away and has the audacity to try and beat us. We’ve lost 3 games. $#!tty losses agreed but we were never going to go unbeaten. May even lose a couple more before the seasons done.

Yep, McEneff is a box to box midfielder, but will Robbie give him that role, players need a wee bit of freedom to express their abilities, Robbie needs to take the shackles off a few players, let them play their own game, now and again.

Hopefully, I like him.

I think he's struggling with the pace a little, but I like him so far.

Gets in the box.

Passes the ball quickly.

Likes a shot

Good corners

Confident, demands the ball.

Apologies if mentioned before but our goal difference is worth a point. (Does slightly question our negative/defensive claims at Robbie to be 16 goals the better).

We should not lose on goal difference.

I agree he has been one of the few positives in the last few games. I think the signs are good that he could be a good player for us.

We aren't defensive. Lacking quality, movement and imagination in the opponents half, but we do play most of the games in our opposition half

Fair enough mate. I wouldn’t bet it.
That said the players know what they need to do and if we win our home games that would be enough. I don’t trust a lot of this team though.

Is that Jason Cummings who scored for Dundee today the actual Cumdog? The guy who who does an accomplished 5-1 and relegated Hibs?

I wondered what had happened to him.  If it is him, I hope he gets a consolation goal on Saturday.

McEneff looks exactly what we've been crying out for. His ball into the box for Boyce's goal shows he's always thinking of attacking. It's not what the purists on here would probably call "good football" but he hit a poor free kick then instead of playing a safe back pass or trying to trap it and do too much pass to keep possession he lumped it into the box asap knowing that Halkett and Popescue would likely still be lurking there. Result: Halkett knock-down for a goal.

Said before, I wish we would go more direct like that more often and look for knockdowns in this league. It's not the place for patient possession football IMO.

Yip, in this league, direct is the way to go.

No need to wait for a gap , the short pass or to get to the by-line every time

Diagonals, second balls, get in in the box as often as possible and shoot when in range.

Tbf We have been getting more balls in the box recently, shit finishing and a bit of bad luck maybe stopping us scoring a few more.

Being a bit more patient might help in the top flight tho, for example v hibs and Celtic, the defenders and goalies are better and  You don't want to give possession away to cheaply  as then they can hurt you and won't give it back as quickly as teams in this division.

In this league we win it back  recycle it more often than not as our general possession shows along with efforts ( way wards) on goal.

Get it in the box, win the second ball, get it back in. hit a shot now and then.

Don't **** up at defending set pieces or give shitty headed back passes to gift goals

- jobs a good un!
