Burn that cursed signed top. Something similar happened to me at St Mirren a few years back. Only I got a hand to it, and made the ball smash the boy behind me while sipping his bovril. AlimOzturk
Keepers in my Era the list would be like this.. World class - Craig Gordon, Anti Niemi. Absolutely nothing between those two. Tremendous - Giles Russet, Kello. Two tremendous shot stoppers but both had a mistake in them. Good Keepers - Steve Banks, Jon McLaughlin, McDonald, Neil Alexander. Maybe harsh on McLaughlin if he had stayed he might have been tremendous. Below par - Tepi, Baloch, Zlamel all meh keepers. Utter pish - Joel, Kurskis, Hamilton, Doyle. The big difference now, of course, is back then a player was stuck at a club until that club wanted him to leave, but now the Bosman ruling has had as much an effect on keepers staying for any length of time as it has on outfield players. Still an awful lot of keepers in 20 years for a position that stability and consistency is a major plus for every team. Fair assessment but I would argue the third keeper was David Graham not David Anderson
AllyjamboDerbyshire
David Anderson was Cruickshank's understudy during the early 60s with Kenny Garland arriving not long after he left. I don't think I ever saw Anderson playing for Hearts, but that was no disgrace when at the same club as Jim Cruickshank, though Kenny Garland did get a lengthy first team spell during which he built a reputation for saving penalties. David Graham didn't arrive at Hearts until the early 70s.

With the exception of Kurkis I don't think its unfair to say theres a pretty clear downward slide. Joel Pereira is without doubt the worst goalkeeper I've ever witnessed in a Hearts jersey. No other keeper had such a damaging impact on our season. He effectively sent us down. Yes, guys like Halliwell or Hamilton had no business being at a club the size of Hearts but that is down moving up, rather than up moving down. Pereira should be utterly ashamed of himself. He cost Levein his job, he cost Hearts top flight football, he's deprived the likes of Cochrane, McDonald, Irving etc. the experience of top flight football next season, he may well have solidified Hickey not signing an extension, being in the position we are cost Stendel his job. The knock on effects of his shiteness have stretched into the 7 figures. Levein takes ultimate responsibility, but by christ... what a shit keeper. It might sound like I'm blaming him for everything, blame goes around everyone but take him out and replace him with Bobby or even Gordon. Do we still finish in 12th? No we ****ing don't. I've never seen a single player have such a negative impact on a team before. Its almost incredible. Oofft. Do you want to lob him in as being Jack the Ripper as well? Seriously, you’re pretty spot on though. While I think it’s a bit shit piling all the blame on him for our league position, there’s no doubt if we had a better keeper in goal we wouldn’t have been bottom. Yes, the outfield players are by no means blameless, the biggest problem was having a keeper who was incapable of saving a ******* shot. The worst keeper we’ve had by quite some distance. He makes Kurskis look like Yashin.

I just looked back on the OP and see we’re discussing keepers since 99/2000 So mine would be: Best: Niemi Gordon Rousett In that order. Worst: Pereira Kurskis Hamilton In that order.
