Today is national pineapple day.....🤔 I know?  but there’s a debate about whether it should have ever been considered an option to put on a pizza? Yes or no?

Pineapple is fine on a pizza, it the deviants who put it on baked tatties you should be more concerned about.

Tomato is a fruit.
knowledge is knowing tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

And yes to pineapple on pizza, only with lots of black pepper though.

Tomato is indeed a fruit and one of the very few allowed near a savoury dish I am eating. Don’t like apple sauce on my pork, pineapple on my gammon or pizza...

Pork with apple sauce was popular when I was wee.

Салатные палочки

One of my favourites is a ham and pineapple. Don't know why it works but it just does.

Oh, and I love pineapple in my sweet and sour chicken.

Pineapple in sweet and sour sauce is good. As a fruit on its own it is nice.

On a pizza, hell no.

My old used to make us curries with raisins, chopped apple and chopped bananas. Not everyone’s cup of tea but I loved the sweet and spicy . The key was adding them at the right time so it didn’t all got to mush

pineapple is the food of the devil and hibs fans. anyone who likes it in any form is an absolute deviant who most likely eats dry cereal and puts ketchup on their steak

I have no problem with pineapple on pizza.

Works best when there is something very salty on it too.

Ham, anchovies, olives. All go well with the sweetness from the pineapple.

Yes, ham and pineapple is classic.  Why do folk love to go mad about this?  I don't really like bacon on pizza, but don't feel like shouting about it.

I was the same when I was younger, and will add fruit in a curry to that too, which I hated. But as my tastebuds changed as I got older, I now enjoy apple sauce on pork, pineapple (roasted, not out of a tin) on a gammon steak, and have enjoyed fruit like mango in a curry...although I guess I've still got a few years, if ever, before I can say I like pineapple on a pizza. It will probably always be a step too far for me.

Need to try that. In at the start or added during the cooking?

I’m a no for pineapple on pizza. I used to live with a girl and she made her own pizzas with a bolognese base and then put sliced bananas on the top. 🤢

Absolutely. As a side note, a thick slice of gammon with a pineapple ring on top is a thing of beauty

Chicken, pineapple and perhaps a little ham make a fine pizza topping

Any excuse for this...

Pretty much where I'm at regarding pineapples.

There are a lot of people who feign disgust at pineapple on pizza because it's a 'thing'. They are the worst people in the debate.
