What a ****ing genius this guy is. Listened to Songs In The Key of Life all morning and I can't get enough.

The song 'Black Man' is really cutting deep atm as well. Long live Little Stevie.

So not dead then?

Very much still alive I hope.

Mods, edit the title please to not dead. Don't want to go scaring the world like that.

**** sake. We need rules on titles and tags ... thought he was dead!

The hover function is a wonderful thing. Unless you're on a phone of course.

EDIT - Didn't realise there was an ability to add tags after you've posted a thread. Done now.

Certainly makes the world seem a less shitty place when you remember he is in it.

J.T.F.Robertson

Have had almost all his albums at one time or another and other than the odd cheesy track, genius personified.

Tonto’s Expanding Headband Deserve a fair bit of credit for the incredible string of albums he released after his Motown contract was rewritten. A lot of people connected to music reckon he kept a lot of his songs away from Motown as his contract he signed as a youngster was heavily weighted in the record companies direction so he didn’t record them until he got paid what he deserved from his music.

Didn't want him "experimenting".

My sister listened to him and Marvin when I was a mad wee punk and wouldn’t consider them.
I bought Talking Book and Innervisions a few years ago. Haven’t got SIKOL yet but will buy.

Some of those old Motown albums are just incredible

IMO the best vocalist ever.

The track below (as far as I'm aware) has never been released on any vinyl or CD format and it's a belter of a tune.

What a voice.

been here before

Some absolutely brilliant stuff, Sir Duke, Master Blaster, Mistra Know It All, Ghetto Paradise, Happy Birtday and all the rest but then he went and released I Just Called To Say I Love You.

Oh Stevie.

Oh Stevie.

Had Sir Duke on repeat all day. What a ****ing tune. Only read today that Master Blaster is a tribute to Bob Marley, and Pastime Paradise is basically the Coolio song. I feel like I've slept on so much. I like to think I'm quite knowledgeable on my music too.

And the song Uptight, I just realised he done when he was 16. ****ing SIXTEEN. My minds made up, he's in my eyes, the greatest musician to walk the planet.

Can't argue with anything there, it's absolute perfection, music that your soul listens to.

I'm away to put it on.

Listened to the full album twice through yesterday. There's so much going on that you could never tire of hearing it.

A good hour and a half long album at least, not that I was paying attention to time. More powerful than any film you'll ever watch.

Stevie wonder is one of my all time favourite artists. The guy is just the perfect musician with an unbelievable voice. What he has achieved despite being blind is remarkable.
