Going to make a bold prediction here.  I think this lad will be the most expensive player in Europe.

Or play next 10 years for City.

I hope not.  A player with that skill needs to be playing in a better league.

The White Cockade

he's a cracking player

Pep the right manager for him given the way he likes to play the game

He’s ready made to walk into that side when Silva leaves. I know he’s not played a lot of football but I’m surprised he’s not been in the England squad yet.

All roads lead to Gorgie

He looks a bit like a ned but he is already some player especially after tonight's display.

Out played all those city superstars

Young lad dresses like a young lad shock.

Most other young lads would slaughter him for dressing like that. I would only expect to see something like that in deepest darkest Lochend or hanging around outside Parkhead:biggrin:

I think the Euros being delayed a year will do wonders for Foden.

With Silva leaving he will be the star of that City midfield next season and will play himself into the England team.

If he was at any other team than City he would have played much more nationally

Foden is lucky, and unlucky to be at Man City.

He is exceptionally lucky to have world class players all around him to watch and learn from, and have the best coaching staff money can buy.

He is unlucky that that very reason puts him quite far down in the pecking order, and he doesn't get as many chances as he should.

Kinda hoped this would be another rumoured transfer thread given the nature of JKB since Neilson was reappointed, boo!

The fashion sense is horrific amongst the young team.

Unlike me and the classic jeans and fleece look.

Timeless.

Not as timeless as the suit and tie the plain clothes polis used to blend in with, in the Shed in the 70s.

Prince Buaben

Talented footballer.Looks like he can step straight into silvas shoes. Massively hyped by Pep ( He said that Foden was the most talented player he has ever seen) and the English Media. Could easily be one of the top players in 10 years or could be jobbing at Lower Prem/Championship .. See Jack Wilshire

Not in my view, no.

I mean I'm definitely not on board with the "greatest league in the world" but to say it's not one of the top leagues is just wrong.

Each to their own I guess.

I think it probably is the best league in the world. The days of a guaranteed top 4 are gone and the strength of the league right the way down is pretty impressive.

He is playing fantastically well tonight

Has to be one, if not the best young talent around in midfield

City 3-0 up at half time and Liverpool think they are in pre season

I remember Neilson getting pelters for losing to Hibs and Rangers after tying up the title, like it was somehow deliberate. Seems like all teams switch off somewhat after the job is done.

I wonder if some chump will hire a plane with crap about "no bottle" and "Klopp out"

To this day I'm sure it must have been some hibs fans.

Liverpool were on their jollies. Basically walking around with cocktails in hand and cigars hanging out their mouths.

Just strolls through games, much like his predecessor.

he's so good - remember watching him when England won the U17  or 19 World Cup a few years ago - amazing footballer

The lad is a serious baller.

Got a lot of respect for him for showing the patience that he has to bide his time and wait for his opportunity. Training with the level of player that City have will only have helped him, and now as a 20 year old he’s ready to become part of the core of the team. Being a huge City fan probably helped with his patience, right enough.

he has a lot of talent and confidence. we wont know until he gets a proper run in the team if he will be as good as his potential suggests. Last nights game is not that good a guide as liverpool seemed poor (from highlights only) and might have just treated it as someone said like pre season as they have the title now.

Next season, or if he gets a fair bot of game time in the remaining CL this season is a better judge of where his potential will take him. It looks like it might have been a good move him not going out on loan for game time, he has learned lots from people like silva and de bruyne which would not have happened if he was on loan at say bournemouth.

One final thing, his willingness to shoot has the potential to make him more effective and better than david silva at their respective peaks

I’ve never understood chips and cheese. Is it a Scottish thing? Love em both but not together.

Like a northern English version of Poutine, I guess.

On Phil Foden though, some player. Quite infuriating how England seem to come up with this never-ending production line of top-quality players, and we're still playing Charlie f---ing Mulgrew!
