Dawnrazor
With Fathers Day and my birthday coming up, I was fancying a nice steak, I've never had a Wagyu steak and was wondering if it's worth the extra cost?

My mate breeds Simmentals and says he is going to try crossing it in to add value. Hopefully he will swap some for my venison.Seems fair. I've my eye on 3 Sika stags that summer on some ground I have, I thought is was the best until I tasted Muntjack a few years ago. My mate has started breeding Red deer, milder than wild red venison. It’s just really average pal. Don’t know if I had built it up to be something amazing as I really like my steaks, but i certainly wouldn’t go rushing out to buy or order it again. Cheers, there's a place over the hill from me that does Belted Galloway beef, reared outside all year on grass, probably get a couple of steaks from there, wagyu is expensive for a disappointment

trotter
Unless you are a proper meat aficionado then don't bother. Spend the extra money on either a bigger cut of a 'lesser' steak, or get some decent side dishes. Seriously, it's not worth the extra. And more importantly, you'll leave still feeling hungry. tian447
Had one last night (got one for £7 out of Aldi). Rump steak, which I actually really like. Just over 60 seconds either side on a high heat iron skillet. One of the nicest steaks I have ever made myself - has a totally different flavour from regular beef Worth it if you can get a deal on it, not sure I would pay megabucks for it.
