Do you mean Mark Wotte? It's the only thing I can think you mean by ex fa

Not really up with English football. Could he be regarded as high profile?

Hearing a bit of friction down Easter Road way between Leanne Dempster and Ron the Con. Anne's pal Leanne a shout, maybe. Just saying.

Nooooooo. Snake can stay and reap what she sowed.

He apologised and has since worked for the SFA. Folk need to get over it and we certainly shouldn't be allowing a bunch of book burning Maoist types to dictate who we employ. He might be the best man for the job. Of course, there may be better.

What a load of nonsense. His racist sentiments betray exactly the calibre of the man. Guaranteed a largs old skool mentality and 100 miles away from what our club stands for. Maoists, good one.

Now we are talking. Class act all round and has the stature in the game to command respect.

Davie Weir and Neil McCann.

Weir, definitely - his intelligence and moral standing (yes I do know first-hand) would be perfect for us over a dinosaur like MM.

McCann - sorry big no. Dreadful at Dundee, lost the plot on more than one occasion and, despite troglodytes like Boyd's desperation to fill all the slots in Scotland with "good old Scottish boys / ex-huns" he was far worse a coach than Stendel. Kris, stick to eating monster munch you narrow-minded cretin.

I see Brian McClair's name was mentioned at the beginning of this thread, could it be him?

Malky Mackay does not seem a suitable person for keeping the benefactors sweet.
Budge has tried to build a family-friendly ethos, & he would surely undermine that.

Im starting to wonder if DS only gets the managers gig, if AB can get a SD she trusts/thinks, is capable of developing him. Nothing more than a hunch tbf.

High profile ex FA - what does that mean?

Re Weir - why would he leave an EPL club?

Seriously!? Is his role not as a scout? Being a scout at any big club, is the type of thing you can walk into without too much issue re paid employment if you are seen as being of a good standard and stock. Not day to day pressure either that people need and crave being a scout. Horse has a good rep down there, and has never really been without gainful employment. The chance to be top dog of sorts, SD or otherwise is a pull and at Hearts to boot...memory may be wrong here, did he not have a handful of games at Shef Utd a few years back as head coach. So he will see a similar role of SD gig as more reflective of his talents. McGlynn & Houston when out of work got gigs at Tic as scouts. Doesnt especially hold much weight.

Get down of your high and mighty pedestal. As if you have never said one bad thing in your entire life.

It was a private conversation, he apologised, get over it.

Maoists like to destroy history, what can i say, if the cap fits. 👍

Christ, could you bite down any harder. :D

I have literally no idea why you have such a crusade for Malky MacKay but it is absolutely clear he will not be on Ann Budge's short list and last time I checked she never claimed to have any latent revolutionary socialist tendencies ,so I suggest you get over it.

I don't, i don't actually care, you clearly do. I said that much in my original post. I think he's a genuine option because he has experience in the role.

Strange response. I never suggest she or anyone else on here did. I think you've got your wires crossed a bit. 👍

Yeah, it's definitely me that's at cross-purposes here. Not the person bringing maoism into a discussion about Sporting Directors.

Yep, it is definitely you that has their wires crossed. Maybe you should read the posts starting from Ibrahim Talls onwards. 👍

Thought the same but could be shes waiting on the new SD to decide if they think Daniel is best for the job or do they have someone else in mind.

Mark Wotte is a good shout. Tried to do his best at the SFA in an environment that is very against any sort of change or original thinking.

I would like Flogel or Fyssis long-term but what's Andy Roxburgh doing these days. Always thought he was ahead of the times.

That is terrifying. Both have abysmal records in senior management roles in football. They would not be mentioned if they had not played for the club previously

I don't think McCann is ready judging by his touchline antics. But he talks a cracking game.

Come to think of it, was it not they two that clashed? 😆

I love JJ but people have to accept his time has passed and to say so is not a slight on him.

And Tommy Wright can get us performing better short term but not a long term manager.

It could work with an experienced sporting director. He wouldn't have put up with those performances last season. Look at the dross he was working with at Dundee

I was wondering the same.

I am looking in a manager/Head coach, someone who can play a enjoyable style of football that provides success, and also someone who can (with his coaching staff) improve a player who is brought in or come from the youth ranks. Does he fit that?

Maybe someone could start a fans poll on who they want as SD?

I like the sound of Mcclair, He is best and most qualified name i have seen on here, I wouldn't mind Takis either but would imagine it will be someone who is UK based? JJ is a legend but feel like at his age the job would be too difficult for him.

Regarding the manager position i havent seen one name mentioned that would be be better than stendel IMO

An ex player who's never done the job before, and his mate,  who failed in the same role at a smaller club. A winning formula.

The last paragraph is interesting so he would not go down well with the SFA and SPFL now. All the more reason to offer him the job now.

My preference all the way through this has been if we can find a way to conclude the season we should try and do that, and even if that means coming back very late in the summer to cram the games in for a very short period of time."

Nice thought by him.  However a non Starter now that teams have released players I would have thought.

He would be a good choice as DoF though - a real breath of fresh air.

Tommy Wright 🤦‍♀️

I thought we’d got over that. Why would we take him over Stendel?

Stendel has a great enthusiasm and positive approach to how football should b played. He has proven successful when he has had the chance to build his own team and been given a proper pre-season

I don’t understand why we aren’t keen to give him the same respect and chance with us.
