AlimOzturk
Well, wee nippy Nicola caught red faced maskless after all her preaching about the importance of wearing them. I see the SNP lovers are out defending their glorious leader to the hilt without realising the utter irony and double standards of it. As minor as it may be and how pathetic the press are for even running such a story she should be resigning immediately. She has hounded others for minor breaches and had other sacked. She is the leader of this country and ultimately is held to a much higher standard than us mere mortals. Think if Boris did the same she wouldn’t be jumping on it like a rabid shark out for blood? Of course she would. I will give her some credit - she at least admitted her mistake immediately. Doesn’t change anything though. She has made her bed and set the standard for breaches of Covid rules by politicians. Time to lead by example and resign.

AlimOzturk
And see all this shite I am reading (mostly by SNP apologists) on social media is quite frankly embarrassing. “Oh she has made a mistake, leave her alone “ ”oh she is only only human ffs” Naw. Just knee jerk reaction after knee jerk reaction. I see one of the scientists from NERVTAG (are they the Bond movie villain's organisation?) is bewildered at the ott reaction from politicians to their report on the mutated strain. While the group was “moderately” confident it was more transmissible, it was not considered to be more dangerous. Earlier on LBC, Prof Dingwall said many members of Nervtag “would be surprised to see a document … which expressed moderate confidence in the existence of a potential problem transformed over the course of 24 hours into a national panic”. I think heads will have to roll if these measures prove to have been a massive overreaction. What they need to be doing is investing more resources in the track and trace for those with the new strain and trying to eliminate that, plus closing the borders and ports to overseas visitors. The scientific advice we are getting is all over the place and is causing massive damage to both the economy and the mental health of the citizens. I think one thing is abundantly clear and that is the leaders of the WM and devolved governments need to go ASAP.

I'm not sure it will impact compliance at all. We've been in this thing for several months now and our behaviour should be fairly well fixed as regards how well we all as individuals comply with the rules. I don't think someone who complies with the rules as much as they can do is suddenly going to turn around and throw caution to the wind because of this. After all, those who comply with the rules will almost all be doing it for their own safety and the safety of others - I don't think that attitude is going to change overnight. The figures do appear to show an increase in cases however and I personally reckon that the news of the vaccine has led to people letting their guards down as they see the light at the end of the tunnel. Understandably so.
