Makes me angry when I hear people moaning they have had their holiday cancelled. Some folks are literally queueing at food banks to survive. Folks losing jobs left right and centre. Business and whole industries absolutely crushed overnight. Families uncertain how they will pay the rent or their mortgage in the next few months. Years and decades of hard work and commitment to folks ventures and lost due to no fault of their own.

So if you holiday gets cancelled and refunded, remember some folks dont know what they will eat next week or where they will live next month.

Is nobody allowed to moan about anything? I'm guessing there will always be someone in a worse situation than the one you find yourself in.

You’ve also never seen scumbags until you’ve seen some proper bogans. Sheeeeiiit!
Wasn’t that impressed with Oz at all tbh.

Me neither. Had the misfortune spending a month travelling Australia and it was a racist plagued, roasting hot shithole, if I'm being honest.

It's like the worst of America combined with the worst of the UK.

Honestly just give it a rest, you are so irritating it is beyond belief.

Do you have naked pictures of all the mods or something as it’s the only explanation for how you haven’t been banned for blatant trolling.

Apart from trolling, there's also rule 15 which prohibits repeatedly posting the same thing. I hope he/she takes note as it would be a shame if they ended up earning a thread ban.

Yeah but for some they may have scrimped and saved to get away for that holiday that they had been looking forward to for months or longer.  A chance to get away from the worries and grind, a chance to give their kids a much needed change of scene.  For some folk that week away a year is what they graft for all year come rain or shine.

You don’t know people’s situation so don’t be so judgemental.

Because everyone knows the advice. It is plastered everywhere you go. He is doing it for attention.

There is a difference to sharing government advice to then spamming a thread with it over and over again. If he wants there is a whole face mask thread dedicated to it that he can post his pish patter on.

FACTS is not just about Facemasks though, in fact (see what I did there) I think the mask part is the least important part of the advice. We are all to pumped up on Masks, do all the other stuff and we don't need them........

I get your point and agree with your last sentence.

Nicola hasn't signed up to follow JKB rules, whereas you have. Break them at your own risk. If you get banned from a thread discussing something you seem to have a keen interest in, you'd probably feel like a a bit of a twit.

The more I think about the Masks the more I think they are actually worse then no masks. I was out for Coffee with Mrs Dundas today and I observed lots of customers come in, from outside with a mask on, then remove it at  their table, which was after they have hand sanitised at the front waiting area. So what they have done, assuming they have the virus otherwise mask is pointless anyway, is load up some cloth with tons of virus, got it all over their hands, then spread it around their table area, where they don't need to wear a mask so they can enjoy their beverages. They should go back and wash/sanitise their hands after touching/removing the masks, which means they are moving about without one on anyway.

My views on masks is very fluid and I can't quite work it all out yet.

They are nothing more than a comfort blanket imo. They will reduce the output of a sneeze or cough but if some sneezes then put their hands all over the mask then on other surfaces it just defeats the purpose. There is a reason why nurses and doctors are actually taught proper mask protocol and that it to stop contamination and spreading germs by putting and taking off masks. The general public can’t be expected to follow these it isn’t practicable.

On the Greek arrivals topic, I take if someone residing in Scotland goes on holiday using Newcastle, this is a loophole to be exploited to avoid the 14 day quarantine? I assume the form filling/box ticking is only carried out on Scottish bound arrivals.

Law.

Reason I ask is just curious as to how these laws get passed so quickly?

Is this due to the special powers they voted through at the start?

No you complete a form no matter where you enter the UK and where you are travelling from. You need to isolate for 14 days if you have been in any non-exempt country in the previous 14 days.

Greece is still officially exempt as per FCO therefore I can't see how this can be policed in Scotland.

The FCO advice is "From 3 September, mandatory requirement to self-isolate if returning to Scotland, unless you are exempt ".

Not obsessed. Just happen to know of folk arriving from Greece after 4am today who've advised they've not been given any information about a need to quarantine despite travelling up from England.

If anything, the Scottish Government have made a complete arse of their 'rules' as airlines don't recognise them and are operating as normal. 😄

The Airlines don't need to change their operation though. It is up to the passengers to be aware of the situation wherever they are going or coming from.

How do they know there is information they've not been given? BY knowing they haven't been given any then they must know what that information is..........

The airlines follow FCO guidance in terms of customers being entitled to refunds if they choose not to travel. If a customer doesn't want to go to Greece - no refund.

The travellers are confident there is nothing in place that could check up on them following this NONSENSE ruling. Nothing was indicated on the flight or by border force that they must go straight home and stay there. They arrived only a couple of hours after the 4am 'deadline' from an island that has a rating lower than Scotland too which makes a mockery of the decision.

I think I'd be doing the same if there was no monitoring and I arrived two hours after a 'roll a six to start' deadline.

Provisional figures indicate some 53 of these new cases are in Greater Glasgow and Clyde area, where Covid-19 restrictions were reintroduced on Tuesday, including in East Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire.

People have been told they should not visit someone else's home, no matter where it is, because cases appear to have been driven by socialising in households. It is likely the rule will stay in place for around two weeks.

But the First Minister, who said she herself has cancelled plans to be with family, said cases are increasing in various parts of the country, and the enforcement of additional measures in Glasgow should serve as a 'wake up call' to Scots.

While across Scotland the number of positive cases of coronavirus is 9.2 per 100,000 people, in Glasgow it stands at 21.8, in East Renfrewshire it is 18.8, and in West Dunbartonshire it rises to 32.6 per 100,000, Deputy First Minister John Swinney said.

Some of the increases will be due to the increased testing of late (see graph below). That creates a bit of noise and makes the "signal" of the beginning of the various clusters more difficult to pinpoint. However, in saying that, I personally would be having a twitchy arse at the moment if I were in charge of combatting coronavirus in Scotland. It will no doubt turn out to be a game of Whack a Mole as the clusters appear, and reactions have to be quick.

Just to let you know, mate. I know someone who has had a £1,000 fine for not quarantining when coming back from holiday. So, it does happen.

Quite a scathing attack on those 2 countries, just for context how long did you spend in Australia and what parts of it?

Haven’t been and never intend to go either , seems I’m right about my assessment judging by some on this who have visited . Plus the accent gets on my tits . It’s a toss up between that or welsh or South African accent though
