I wonder if they could give us a rough time when this is going to take place, just so as I can make sure I have nothing else on.

Does anyone know if people who work in shops have had high incidence of staff catching this?

I asked one of the staff in Scotmid in Gorgie if any of the staff had caught it and he laughed and said no. Thousands must go in and out of there every week so it was good to hear.

Tomorrow morning first thing mate.

The Mrs and young daughter will stay for the 5 weeks school holidays. Me and my laddie will go for weekends but come back home to work.

Decided to sack going out to the entertainment as the Mrs is a bit nervous, but booked into an Indian restaurant in Berwick for a meal

I have found wearing gloves makes me more conscious of touching my face but dont wear them anymore unless at the shops. Wouldnt wear them in a pub at all. Just take gel with me.

I had occasion to.vist A&E during lock down. The first thing the doctor doing the initial assessment told people to do was dispose of your gloves. Unless you change them every 15 minutes they do more harm than good. Just a second skin but a lot more difficult to wash.

Who cares if a load of old people die though eh.

You can care about both.

I posted a link earlier in the thread where health professionals are very concerned about the impacts on children.

Most older people I know love their grandkids and most people run their lives to make it better for their children.

It doesnt have to be either or .

But if it was then I'm sure most old people would take the hit .

We have been advised the same .

Gloves are mandatory on site usually.

Likewise - I had to take my son to the the Sick Kids about one a.m one morning in early June. We were handed masks as we went in. The doctor that came in to see us had his own masked pulled down under his chin and didn’t look bothered that my son and I had done the same.

I'm repeating myself I think.

I wear a mask to the shops.

Always have .

Im not convinced about their use .

I know you are speaking  tongue and cheek i think but some really are in that thought process. My mate is loving it bbqs all the time and i seen one of his neighbours at the shop the other day complaining to the shop staff that it was all getting too much for him but his wife was loving it as it was 8 days in a row he was in for a litre of vodka for a bbq at his house and folk just kept popping round and he mentioned my mates name was the one popping round that day ( was last week when weather was great ).

Its not everyone i know and some are feeling the strain either mentally or in the pocket but there are others loving it.Personally im feeling more an outsider as i keep trying to do the right thing in my mind but more and more as the weeks go in im starting to feel i have this all wrong as others are lapping it up.

Sturgeon again telling untruths at her daily briefing. "Face coverings will NOT protect you but will protect others". Not sure of her motives for saying it but it is absolute garbage. I wear a medical grade mask in the supermarket because, first and foremost,  it protects the wearer. That's why people have been wearing masks up until now. The idea that the virus can get IN but not OUT is arrant nonsense.  Of course, it's not fool proof, but that equally applies to the wearer as to others. If you touch surfaces and then rub your eyes then, of course, a mask doesn't help but, if she wants to encourage people to wear masks then she needs to stop slavering p*sh.

Hated it at first but it has become the norm for me now. Amazing how quickly you become accustomed to doing **** all other than chasing your nippers around. Scary how easy your work ethic can be depleted. Sure as soon I get the green light again it won't take much time to get back into the swing of things again.

I had the misfortune of policing mask wearing at my work till I told them to ram it, awful experience.

It was the damnedest thing, the group who were adamant no one could force them to do anything all came up with a medical justification, every last one.

But when a manager explained they wouldn't be getting any more hours as they didn't want the rest of the staff at risk (zero hour contracts, so no commitment made or broken) every last one of them found they could wear a mask after all.

And in fact, the handful with genuine medical justification, mostly asthma, all still insist on wearing their masks - the last thing they want is more lung problems.

Funny eh?
