In regards to face masks short term I agree with the approach but I am concerned it becomes the norm.

my worry is that it’s in place for the next 2/3 months and then the rhetoric will be that we are approaching winter and we should continue doing it to avoid a second peak.

What would be the issue if that did happen?

Dickens then through to Victor Gold. 👍

Stratties was great for a game of early morning bus roulette.

If the 33 appeared first quickly finish off your pint and off to work.

Number 3 and it was another pint.

Number 25 and it was Monday session time.

:glorious:

This kind of caper impresses me no end I won’t lie☺️

From the tabbytracker site...

Today, 3,771 new people were tested, which is an increase from yesterdays figure of 3,264. From those 3,771, 0.1% were positive

0.1 %  !

Agree totally.

I gues what it will take is for these people to start losing out e.g. not gaining access to public transport, be denied entry to shops, etc.  At that point it might actually trigger these selfish ignorant halfwits to stay at home or wear a mask.

Ah, a textbook deployment of the mythical five second rule.

I recall one morning when I was a student sitting in Stratties at the back of 6 one Thursday morning with the offspring of some of Norfolks minor aristocracy and an assortment of other toffs. We'd been at Split at Cab Vol on the Tuesday and We are Electric at the same venue on the Wednesday and had kept on it all the way through. Obviously nobody had slept or eaten for a couple of days and we were flagging, so a Stratties breakfast of beer and stovies was required.

I had quite a job convincing the poshos that stovies were actually food for humans, and were probably exactly what they needed. The place was bouncing by the time the juke box went on at 8.

So you’re confirming the massive U turn that has taken place. No wonder I stopped listening to ‘experts’ a while ago.

Now I’m off to drink a mouthful of Domestos.

It's almost as if this is a brand new virus and we're still learning more about it as we go along.

Only a fool would ignore the most recent advice to follow what was said months earlier when we had less of a clue what we were dealing with.

:spoton:  The lack of care is incredible. It's like folk don't mind if we get put back into a stricter lockdown. Full lockdown was horrible FFS.

I wish they could exclude Scotland from these. We're hardly contributing to the UK figures.

Totally agree. I bought some early doors and haven’t been into the supermarket without one since March. Felt like an eejit at first but I’m doing all I can to keep myself and my folks safe.

hopefully the small minority on here who mock the use of wearing masks or refuse to do so will see sense soon!

Full lockdown? Folk were out and about doing more exercise than they’d probably done in years. Tons of folk were at work, either from home or in a safe way on site. That wasn’t lockdown. That was a half-baked, panicked response by governments in London and Edinburgh who shortly thereafter realised they’d screwed everyone’s future by crashing the economy.

It was still horrible and I don't want to go back to it.

If you want to look at what would happen if we'd made an even more half-arsed attempt and abandoned lockdown even quicker, take a look at the USA.

A lot of excitement on facebook for the pubs in england opening at 6am tomorrow. Many talking about "getting an early start". I fear this is not going to end well.
