Utterly stupid comments from her, she could have just said pay the tenner for the nowtv day pass, it’s miles cheaper than the fines that will be dished out for breaking COVID rules.

No incentive whatsoever for Sky to give up any part of something they’ve paid £125m for.

You think our FM should be doing 'free advertising' for TV companies ?

Let's face it it doesn't matter what she does haters will hate.

This shouldn't be about pacifying one or other set of the the uglies.

Public health should come first and now that she knows fans are going to travel around Scotland and Northern England the game should be called off imo.

Just seen Neil Doncaster call the old firm game the greatest Derby in the world.

What a leader.

What a guy.

£400 000 a year.

He knows what side his bread is buttered.

Keep the old firm and their gullible hordes happy, keep coining it in, no matter how much of a **** you've made of things.

I said could not should

Her suggestion that a private company that has paid substantial sums for the rights to show the game and also incur substantial production costs should then give that away for free because she feels people may not abide by the rule of law is a joke, it is the governments place to control law and order not the place of of a broadcaster. Why should Sky treat this any differently to any other of the dozens of games they have broadcast over the last few months?

Do you mean "Why should Sky expect their shareholders to take any kind of hit during this pandemic, and why shouldn't they continue as if Covid hasn't happened, and why should they be expected to make any sacrifices for the common good, and why should a politician,  who's job it is manage the health of a society, think they've got any right to ask a question"?

Nope, disagree, the game could go ahead with no tv coverage. Problem solved.

Mibbies we should all head off to Blackpool to watch the game tonight. Fill the pubs on Saturday and ask to watch Saturday kitchen when their diddy derby is on. Guy on the radio says a sevco pub in Blackpool had 1500 requested fans wanting to watch the game. They have had to close doors as they can't police that.

1 Like every other business they already have

2 They aren't

3 Sky plough millions into the 'Common Good' every year

4 It wasn't asking a question, it was an attempt to shunt the responsibility

Queen of the South have a member of the backroom staff test positive so the coaching team are isolating. Means that the two most senior players will be in the dug out tomorrow.

Remember they were the club heading for relegation last season too.

Worst form with Partick in better form and of course a game in hand.

So are QoS actually testing players or is this just a ‘normal’ test following symptoms?

And the other questions around how they know the players are okay.

Are they using the GPS trackers?

We are now able to confirm that one of our players has tested positive for Covid-19. The player in question has been self-isolating since last Friday and will continue to do so until 20 October. We of course all hope that he will soon be restored to good health. In addition, another player who had been in close contact tested negative - he now is self-isolating for the requisite 14 days. Following consultation key parties, it was established that the club had operated within the agreed Covid-19 protocols and thus no other players/staff were required to test or self-isolate.

Suspect it will be common for quite a few clubs to have players down with Covid in the lower leagues over the coming months.

CLUB STATEMENT: ST MIRREN V MOTHERWELL

SMFC Webteam Saints News 17 October 2020

St Mirren Football Club can confirm that a further first-team player have returned a positive COVID-19 test and is now self-isolating. In line with Public Health and Scottish Government guidelines, a number of additional players are now required to self-isolate.

Chief Executive, Tony Fitzpatrick stated: "It is very disappointing that we are faced with this situation despite the numerous precautions and safeguards that are in place within the Club.

"As a result we regret this has caused our game against Motherwell to be postponed.

"This is hugely frustrating for our fans, the players and staff, and for everyone connected with the club. We will be working with the SPFL and relevant health authorities on this matter and will provide an appropriate update when more information is available.

"This once again underlines the absolute necessity of maintaining vigilance to ensure that players, officials and their families minimise the risk of infection to keep everyone safe."

There is no way that the SPFL leagues will be played to an end this year. We must ensure we are at the top of the league when they get called.

This won’t be the last. The fixture list will become increasingly congested. Headaches for Doncaster and co. Excellent.

Even the clowns who run our football will have surely have made contingency plans for a possible repeat of last season.

Having said that why haven't we heard what they are considering all the leagues have now restarted.

I think we will be able to complete the season but it would be nice to know the alternative. Hi

they adopted the need to have 13 players for the games to go ahead so i assume it was the spfl who postponed it probably from pressure from lawell after fitzliedown cried on the phone to him

According to St Liedowns website they have 23 first team players and 7 in the reserve squad. Are they trying to claim only 12 players were available to play, with 18 players out? Sorry but this stinks and they should forfeit the game. Hard luck if they don't have strength in depths required.

They said they only had 12 players including 4  keepers.

Goodwin was on the the radio a couple of nights ago saying he had players back from injury and would be ok.

Maybe the SPFL should instigate a 3 strikes and you’re out policy?
There is clearly something amiss with St Mirren’s procedures they have in place.
