Someone from Dundee calling Fifers inbred is definitely the most alarming part of this thread.

Apart from it being suggested that red sauce is not good on a bacon roll.

Clearly we have to ease the lockdown, given these signals of confusion.

For what its worth, Peanut Butter makes me ill. When I watched the first series of Homeland, I loved how Saul Berenson would eat peanut butter on toast and contemplate the next terrorist attack, and tried to do likewise - only I'm allergic to sunflower oil so would be ill the next day. I blame Brody.

Meanwhile, down with bread and up with rolls - and let's ditch chips and eat potatoes instead.

Still been meaning to get back to homeland, watched the first 3 series a few years ago.

I don't usually eat peanut butter, just fancied a change, won't be buying that or bread again 😂

I don't eat a lot of chips to be honest but i can't be bothered boiling potatoes, i'd probably end up buying those frozen roast ones.

Calling it red sauce irritates me enough, never mind putting it on a bacon roll.

Blasphemy.

Nothing beats a morning roll heavily floured with butter and bacon and brown or red sauce.

Keep your well fired (overcooked) rolls and your loaves of bread

Keep your tiger rolls and your tortillas

A big softy covered in flour is the business. Whatever you fill in it.

Dundee has some quality roll action. They are cracking. Nicolls rosebank, two rolls, up the law, gaze at fife (chuckle a bit at inbreeding over there) and look at the sidlaws.

Who needs a castle! :)

Each to their own but a few points need to be made here..

There is no such thing as red sauce. It is ketchup.

Ketchup on a bacon roll, whether or not you like soft or crispy rolls is just filthy behaviour.

Someone from Dundee even suggesting other people are inbred is rather amusing.

Cannae beat that old classic combo, ham and yellow sauce.

I'll take one of those hotdogs as well, stick some yellow sauce and red sauce on it, heavy on the flour.

Seriously, for a wee minute.

Have you ever tried ‘tomato ketchup’ on a bacon roll?

Or, on a fried egg, for that matter?

Brown sauce is for chips,. Chips only.

I do like red sauce with chips too, mind.

Of course i have. What do you take me for. I've tried the lot.

Even a couple of weeks before lockdown the guy from work went in to get us bacon rolls and he got ketchup on them, just as shite as i remembered.

And no. It's salt and pepper on a fried egg, or brown sauce.

I'm not sure what planet you're from.

Pasquale for King

It’s the one thing I was panicking about before lockdown, wanted a brand maker but just got the oven fixed as requested by the wife. Now you can’t get flower anywhere around here anyway, but thankfully there’s lovely bread all around.

Bread is a crutch of mine. Could honestly scoff a whole loaf of tiger bread or rolls in one sitting. Crispy bacon filled tiger roll with Lurpack and HP sauce was is simply a combo of the gods.

Oh, always put the tiger rolls in the over to crisp up before buttering.

I’m here as well....... love the small tiger baguette (when I say small I mean about 1 foot)............

try a sliced steak & onion baguette as follows:

Get a wee bag, bin liner type of thing, bung in quarter cup of oil, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, teaspoon of smoked paprika, wee bit crushed chilli (powdered would do) little bit of garlic......mix all that together and chuck in sliced onion and sliced steak.....tie the bag at the top....Chuck it in the fridge for a few hours....mix the bag around with your fingers every now and then massaging the seasoning into the meat and onions, fry the lot in a pan (about 5 minutes) and enjoy......make sure you pour the juice left in the pan over steak & onion on the baguette  👍

I took you as a classy type from your posting history. Clearly couldn't be more wrong if you have red sauce on bacon roll.

Feel let down Morgan.

Can't beat a nice piece.

I have friends who are baffled when I tell them what a piece is.

Is it a Leith thing? My Dad was brought up in Leith and he enjoys a piece, my mate who is originally from Lithgy had never heard of it until we shared a flat together.

Scotland wide I’d say. Apart from Linlithgow apparently.

I wouldn't have thought it specifically a Leith thing, but funnily enough, I was born in Leith and brought up there for a few years.

Everyone knows what a ‘piece’ is, surely?

‘What do you have in your piece, the day’?

Definitely not just a Leith thing.

Jeely piece.  :sweeet:
