Any idea if the club shop will sell the poppy version of the 3rd shirt worn by the team today?

Looks like a sticker of some sort so I would imagine so, If they have stock left obviously..

Can't find the original thread but the last of the 'retro' tops up for pre-order

https://heartsdirect.co.uk/products/classic-kit-12-of-12-1972-home-kit

Has anyone received this yet (it's the 'Ajax' one as link doesn't show anything)?

It wasn't available online for long so assumed it sold out and haven't seen it in the shop.

Tommy Brown

Photo/image doesn't look very Maroon.

Would like to see in real life.

My dad bought it for me as a 10yo from Patrick Thompson's. Didn't have the logo as was a right nylon job.

Does anyone know how long our deal with Umbro runs for? I’m hearing they’re being bought out by Castore..

Visually I quite like their stuff but quality wise it's absolute trash.

*** booooooooooooooooooooooo!

Someone mentioned that we've been talking to Adidas and Hummel, that his mate works for one of them. I reckoned Hummel as Adidas are less likely to deal with the club direct.

Oh no ! Please do not go with adidas performance or adidas sportswear.

adidas originals yes but not the other two. 😔

You never know about how life ends up but I'd be very, very surprised if this is true.

Umbro is 100 years old this year so I can't see whoever owns them selling out to Castore (did Nike not own Umbro at one point ?) In their centenary year.

Money talks though.

Yep, the designs are always 1 year in advance.

That’s sad news if true, Castore stuffs been getting absolutely panned for being dreadful quality, umbro a good classic brand and would be a shame if they lost their identity

I'd be surprised if we ended up with hummel kits as I think their UK distributor went into administration causing a lot of clubs to pull out of their deals. They may have found another supplier but I'm not sure.

https://www.footyheadlines.com/2023/04/6-uk-teams-have-already-left-hummel-after-bankruptcy-only-3-renewed-kit-deals.html

Nike did buy Umbro in 2007. I think by incorporating them it allowed them to have the biggest share of the market for football shirts and equipment over Addidas. Umbro already being a significant, established brand in the UK. I think it's what ultimately led to England shirts being made by Nike. Umbro signed with Man City as they were sold by Nike, but Nike did get the City contract after Umbro had finished. Not sure if the deals were connected however.

If we've got a year left with Umbro, I imagine at this stage they've already proposed designs to the club. We'll probably be in an Umbro kit regardless of whether they're bought out or not.

-IF- Castore buy them out, I have no idea what their intentions would be with the brand. Probably use it to generate an income/market hold while they sort out their own brand. They've had a good bit of bad press with the Villa women's team and printing Wolves badges upside down (), just off the top of my head.

Would hate to see Hearts in a Castore kit. If we're moving away from Umbro and want a change from Addidas, I've quite liked some of the recent Errea ones.

One more season to go with Umbro after this season.  McKinlay said so in his last interview.

Nike sold Umbro in 2012 and they're now owned by the same company that owns Pony.

Short sleeves look better on this kit than the long sleeves in my opinion  despite the fact I'm a lover of a long sleeved kit.

My point was more that the stripe isn't Maroon like the original. Collar and stripe are different.

Certainly wasn't a season to remember in it, other than an Ibrox win.

Was an iconic and memorable though, a bit like like the silver top, brings back the wrong memories.

It's complicated though, they're owned by a brand management group that licenses out the brand. I don't know which company licenses the rights here but it's a different company in South America.

Grupo Dass own the rights there
