I hope you are all well. Seems funny not having an Easter weekend of sport but lockdowns been a chance to relive past memories and maybe forget about our current predicaments!

Would anyone be able to put in simple terms what the SPFL are voting on today?

They're voting on shafting Championship, and League 1 and 2 clubs, before turning their attention to us.

Do they 'call' the league as it is, meaning current positions based on average points per game stand or do they not.

To get this through they need 75% of clubs in the top league to vote yes, 75% of clubs in the 2nd league to vote yes, and a combined 75% of clubs from the bottom two leagues to vote yes.

It won't happen.

Thank you. I have seen threads but it's like wading through treacle trying to find out what the actual proposal is! Seems in England the only plan on the table is finishing the season, behind closed doors as soon as they can.

It will be like the Brexit vote.  They’ll keep amending it and re voting until it gets pushed through.  Hearts will be relegated before Barnsley!  Do you not think the playing the season behind closed doors is a bit pie in the sky - could be months away even for that?

They’re trying to bribe clubs into awarding Celtic the title and relegating Hearts now with the carrot of “that means we’ll give you the prize money cash now” - a sham way to make it look fair, with the director of Celtic pulling most of the strings. They’ve illegally changed the voting threshold for rule changes from 11-1 to 75% in order to make it more likely.

A predictable dereliction of duty with no care for the fairness of outcome from the governing body who are just there to look after the interest big 2, one of whom Celtic is very much financially bigger than the other. That’s the trough these pigs like Neil Doncaster feed from - the whole Scottish football governance is basically an organised crime syndicate who are probably all involved with gambling and match fixing behind the scenes. Half the players in Scotland are gamblers too. So are the absolute clown pundits who spend all day long kissing the arse of one or the other Glasgow club in order to get clicks for clickbait Red top rags like the Sun and Daily record which are another level chavvier in Scotland than they are in England, written with a primary school level of language so Glaswegians can understand the articles.

Pretty much sums up the reason Hearts should leave scotttish football and join the FA and conference North to work our way up and eventually skelp your lot with both clubs in the Premier League ideally! Sadly there’s too many Scottish nationalist clowns in Scotland for that to happen so we will go on like this forevermore

I think it is ridiculous  but it seems that's where we're heading. My preference is to add on points to the next season which would penalise us but benefit the likes of Brentford,  Leeds etc but we'd still have a full season to get out of trouble.

There is a lot I like about this post. Correct and  imagine how pissed Celtic and the likes would be if Hearts resigned from the league and got into the English football system when they have been trying for years.

If the club are to be wrongfully demoted it is something the board should explore, there is already a space free from Bury going bust and it sounds like there may be others similar too.

Actually it's a pity you couldn't do the official Hearts statements. Sick of the pathetic acceptance of the situation by Budge.

the only thing missing from this post is that if the clubs vote to accept the ending of the season and only if they vote for it will the carrot of league reconstruction be discussed. According to the BBC article the vote for any league reconstruction would be 11-1, so a non chance of it happening.

Hearts don’t need Scottish football, they are better than that! Scottish football seems to treat Hearts with total contempt but still needs them.

After the National crisis is over there won’t be much of Scottish football left.

Hearts should take this current situation as an opportunity to move on to bigger and better things!

And that 11:1 vote sums up the total corruption in the Scottish football authorities.

A club (Sevco) that was created 8 years and was admitted (with exclusive preference over any other club wishing to join to the league eg Highland league clubs) at the lowest level. They worked their way up the divisions. And now that they are in the Premier League they with their traditional rivals (Celtic) have a controlling vote over reconstruction.

The authorities constitution for the 11:1 vote should have been changed when Rangers were liquidated!

Would anyone be able to put in simple terms what the SPFL are voting on today?

I think the first priority is to get cash to the smaller clubs to keep them going until a new season starts. That's what's behind declaring the leagues below the Premiership as finished, with league placings decided by goal average per game played. This throws up a problem for Partick Thistle who are in relegation position but with a game in hand. Partick are actually one of Scotland's bigger clubs which makes it especially awkward.

The problem around the Premiership involve some very emotive issues around Celtic and Rangers. These two clubs are commonly referred to by other fans as the Arse- Cheeks, for obvious reasons. Rangers are desperate to stop Celtic being awarded the League, although they obviously deserve it, because it offends their feelings of superiority and natural right. This is the topic that has the SPFL and SFA pissing their pants.

The issue  that concerns Hearts fans is relegation. As it stands we're down, but with a 4 point gap and 24 to play for we think,(and the courts might agree) that that would be unlawful.

The way out of this is to extend the top division to 14 clubs by adding Dundee Utd and Inverness from the Championsip to the Pemiership, and replacing them with the top two teams from league one, thus avoiding relegation for Partick... I think this is what will happen.

Someone will be on shortly to contradict all of the above.

You're welcome on our  forum, it's great to hear from other fans.

I’m hoping they scrap the season and start again next year, playing behind closed doors would result in me never going to a football match again, would be horse racing, darts and boxing for my live sport fix if they do that.

I'd have you in the English league,  away days in Edinburgh sound good to me!

Trust me there are plenty of pros and very few cons. Away fans from all over England would be welcome to come for a nice scenic weekend in the Capital to see their teams put to the sword at Tynecastle ⚔️ It would ignite interest in lower league English football, every Hearts fixture would be a Scotland vs England derby with huge atmospheres at Tynecastle as we take on all comers.

The only thing stopping is silly wee Scottish Nationalism, where the clearly incompetent Nicola Sturgeon advocates for a mini Brexit of Scotland brexiting out from the U.K. good plan eh. That lot but also the old guard Tartan Army traditionalists who still see Scottish football as relevant even though really it’s been left behind. It’s the same old guard who disagreed with Alex Ferguson as Scotland manager wanting to pick players from the English leagues back in the 80s, so he dumped the Scotland job for Man United. And the great man has never spoke a word to the SFA since. Sir Alex always talked about how Dave Mackays lack of caps for Scotland was a crime against football. Same clowns are still at the wheel, them and criminal scum who run the old firm clubs. Imagine paying Neil Doncaster a 6 figure salary to run the Scottish game 😂 hope this crisis burns them all down.

Joining the English league would make us no less Scottish IMO, we fly the saltire on our club crest with pride and we are the only club to do so. We can be a Scotland team playing in England just as Cardiff and Swansea fly the flag for Wales.

The only partial reason for staying in Scottish footballs corrupt backwater is it’s easier for us to get into Europa League - where we will never have the budget to compete, we can never keep our best teams together, as players leave to go to England any time we have a good team. So we can stop that flow of players and just join England ourselves! Then eventually when we’re in league 1 or the championship, our fecking players will stop leaving us for those leagues!

Just wish we had a leader with the courage to consult the fans on something like this, I think if Foundation of Hearts had this debate, a motion to leave the SFA join the FA would come out on top. I know I’d vote for it.

Would be about five years before we work our way up to what was conference North. Level 11 is starting point for professional clubs.

Could try buying out a club that no one cares about. IIRC that was one of the backdoor entries for OF which were talked about.

FWIW, I don't think the english leagues would have a massive problem allowing Scottish clubs in, but the OF and their fans make it difficult because they cannot be trusted to behave themselves. Manchester 2008(?), any time Celtic have had a friendly down there - sectarian chanting, british soldiers etc.

I go to every game home and away, have done for years, it’s all about the day out socialising with mates, and a good drink before and after the game for me, I’ve had a season ticket for the last 25 years, and been to every away game since 2007 once I’d saved up for a mortgage deposit and wedding. Prior to that from around 02 to 07 I picked and chose away games, to save money, since 07 it’s become an habit an addiction, something that’s been very hard to break something I can’t break.

Quite a few of my mates have seen every BFC game this season without leaving their bricks, on one of them dodgy stick things, if I get into the habit of staying home watching the games and saving money for other things, such as holidays, darts, horse racing, boxing and so on, I don’t think I’d go back to the way I’ve been for years gone by.

Saltire on crest:

East Fife

Ayr United

And that’s with 10 seconds of thought.

Likely more, too.

Good post.  You will be feeling better now.
