First stage to abandoning the season, they have already admitted if they couldn't start by June it would be over. With the problem far from reaching anywhere near an exit strategy, cant see how they will continue with it.

Must have got their snouts out of the money trough long enough to make a statement. Back to guzzling champagne and ensuring their own back handlers are still avaiable.

Another stage gate on the plan. Simply managing through the route, without ever compromising themselves by giving up on the season.

Still probably not enough for SPFL / SFA to make a decision.

Definitely not.

3 weeks away at least I would say. Got to be guided by medical experts and that science is in for a pretty dramatic April all through Europe

My Sister works in the frontline in the nhs in the hub and they’ve been told to prepare to be there till sept at least.

so June would be fanciful indeed.

Girl who works for me,  mega proud of her. She makes plastic jewellery from recycled materials but went out of her way to change to making masks from laminate. She rattled up 200 plus from stock in our cupboards at the office.

Digital era and that is what we have to do to help our health services.

A happy story of public support you hope isn't necessary.

Take care

Those that run the game here and in Europe once again showing  that they couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery.  Clarity and decisive action is needed by the clubs, the players and the paying public and yet again feet dragging is the way they respond.

Has anyone mentioned that Wimbledon and the Edinburgh Festival have already been cancelled. Anyone who thinks players will be back training before the middle of July at the earliest is wrong . On that basis maybe a season starting in September, possibly without cup competitions, is the best we can hope for imo.

To finish the old season is going to take 6 weeks I would imagine. New season would not be able to get going until November.

All national associations going to have to be on board and 2 successive Champions League would be chaotic,  Euro 20 in 21 restricts time.

This one is going to have to be abandoned with each association responsible for its final outcome

the outcome has to be consistent across leagues otherwise there will be legal challenges all over the place

I know people in UEFA think too much about money, they can't even force themselves to give a f***; about what we want and what we don't. Club tournaments are their prioritie$.

Training sessions in July? I call it a different championship.

Professional football along with concerts, cinemas and theatre will be the last events to get te go ahead when the virus begins to recede.

The authorities will not want to risk mass gatherings of people until the threat of virus has gone completely.

UEFA, SPFL and all the other football authorities can make all the plans they like it will matter not a jot .

I think November at the earliest for professional sport to return imo.

Not an effing chance.

UEFA want to complete the Champions League in August - and are considering a mini four-team tournament.

It comes after a video conference call with the 55 national associations to discuss contingency plans because of the coronavirus crisis.

They have pushed for all domestic seasons to be completed by August 3 which means games must be restarted in June - with UEFA insisting that no dates are set in stone.

UEFA’s working group put together a potential calendar which was discussed on the conference call - which included the Football Association’s chief executive Mark Bullingham - to finish all of Europe’s leagues.

The Champions League still has two last 16 ties and the quarter finals to squeeze in, the Europa League is in a similar position and UEFA then want to stage their showpiece finals after the domestic leagues are finished.

That could see a mini four-team tournament take place with the semi finals and finals in Istanbul and Gdansk for the Champions League and Europa League respectively.

UEFA could scrap this year's European Super Cup - the showpiece game between Champions League and Europa League winners - which was due to take place in Porto but is no longer mentioned on the UEFA website.

It is also understood that UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin is determined the games go ahead with fans and remains opposed to having the finals behind closed doors.

The Dutch FA put out a statement detailing the calendar possibilities but stressed that “health was paramount” while the Spanish FA also said they expect football to be played across July and August.

The other key developments were that all international fixtures in June have been postponed while the Danish FA reported that the women’s Euros in 2021 - to be hosted in England - will be put back by a year to 2022.

Uefa have set a soft deadline of August 3 in order to complete domestic league competitions, following a meeting today in Nyon.

The conference call included representatives from all member countries as they looked to come together and agree a schedule for the remainder of the football calendar.

Following their announcement that the Champions League and Europa League for 2019/20 would be suspended indefinitely, the member associations did not raise the possibility of cancelling the current season and explored ways in which the season could be finished.

June has been mentioned as a provisional start date in order to get all competitions completed by August 3.

But in a statement released by the Dutch FA, they add that Uefa "strongly urges that the season be completed and that the schedule be aligned with the rest of footballing Europe."

They added: "It is hereby stated that all competitions in Europe must be completed before August 3. This means that the competition will have to start again in the second half of June."

Dutch FA on its website says UEFA has insisted all completions in Europe MUST be completed by Aug. 3 and season will have to restart mid-June to meet that target. Say games only return when safe. UEFA suggesting no firm dates in place. pic.twitter.com/JJa8IXW1JO

Uefa were clear to note that the priority throughout the consultation period would be the well-being of the players and all others connected to the clubs, and would revise their plans if it was made clear that the August 3 date could not be met.

The August 3 date is just one particular scenario that has been raised, and the member associations are also investigating other options that would still see the games completed, including extending into September if necessary.

Uefa have yet to address the issue of player contract which are set to expire on July 1, though it is thought that a plan to extend these deals by an additional two months is being drafted.

All these plans and statements for something that's got no chance of happening.

I agree that large scale events will not be up and running this side of summer but we are going to have to learn to live with this infection once the spread peaks. I think the observations by the respected German microbiologist puts the risk into perspective against draconian restrictions continuing and the dramatic effect this will have on the health of the general population  - https://off-guardian.org/2020/03/31/open-letter-from-prof-sucharit-bhakdi-to-chancellor-merkel/?__cf_chl_jschl_tk__=c7faef59e32d6e69a4d2d7badf9ade0ca5c085dc-1585772121-0-AVROP6u_J7etgJaLmizpqYYcI4kTmqZh3V_6lyMmpBaz8YvfT9Is6fCn-blFmG3S2C5_0RApFhMc2ewTHLtzc5OXDwHdD50Z6Ahp-48CQ-jHEw1nBo0w_zhYUPWWOAbL0jeH9LEOe9vwMcjIJqasSvgBHyXEPV22jxXRXVQxgCry28hvbi6zYGtDAoahP82XBGxGcRVfO7Rrgp8vMGv4aCNxdp9RjBfcPugWz92ItPCoUK2IaqhZZtAoWGInok-JUzpnw3bD8TvJsEsT7UymPpZufhEUqU160fiD0TMbmYobalDW_ivFSjn_iJ0y_1yet3wEKUy-zDOGliyKuPTbWZjNigQZlmQXZntMgBB00c3c8_CbI_h3Yq6kZAmGCij3Vg

Belgium to end season now, & Brugge named champions after ratification from remaining clubs, according to SSN. No mention of relegation though?
