People still talk about Robbie Neilson’s tackle in the 2006 final, but nobody ever seems to say anything about David Weir’s clearance to stop Porrini having a clear shot on goal in the last seconds. A game winner. If Rangers had equalised, we were finished.

The other thing I was reminded of was the difficult but brilliant decision by JJ to bring on Jim Hamilton instead of John Robertson. Hamilton was immense in those last few minutes, with clearing headers as Rangers had to hit high balls into our box and hope for a break.

Willie Young said, at the celebration night 2 years ago, that he was about to give a penalty for the foul on McCoist, but saw his linesman signaling that it was outside the box.
It was just our day, and our good luck was long overdue.

You’d have thought given how many he wasted on the day Amoruso would’ve been hauled off free kicks he really did have some honkin efforts that day

Jefferies said one of reasons we won was because albertz wasn't playing. He would have taken free kicks

We’d have had some real problems with Albertz that man could hit a ball one of the best I’ve seen

Another big slice of luck for us, him being sent off for violent conduct the previous game.

He broke our Hearts at Ibrox a few weeks earlier, preventing us winning and being in a great position to go on and be champions.

Can only imagine Advocaat hadn't been lined up for the Rangers job yet and Craig Brown was angling for the job given the absolute Rangers arselicking going on by him.

😁

It was an outstanding challenge. Truly outstanding

Fulton was empty in last 10 minutes. He should've been hooked but I suspect the bench were oblivious

Negri was another big miss for them. Kind of forget about him with McCoust, Durie etc, but he scored a bucket load for them. Injured playing squash with a team mate

wasn’t the bench also more limited in those days . Like 3 outfield players (Robbo, Jim Hamilton and Grant Murray plus the sub goalie Mackenzie)

weir was lucky not to be sent off for the free kick on edge of box too

richie was there to support and in those days think the test was still “last man” as opposed to “denying a clear goal

scoring opportunity” but just shows fine margins, particularly the pen we got and they didn’t

We got the breaks that day. There is no doubt

There were many occasions prior to that when we haven't had the breaks

We fully deserved that victory

Bad sportsmanship from the Huns, In extra time.

Gary Naismith went down with a genuine head knock and we kicked  it out for him to get treatment.

They never played it back to us ,
