Everton: Howard's Way

Well, I guess...

...We're going to have to get used to watching documentaries, as opposed to matches,  here's one.

Hit up Amazon Prime and check Everton: Howard's Way. Brings back so many memories.

So many Scots (again) helping take English clubs to the top of the league. Graeme Sharp, he knew how to hit a volley.

Neville Southall, quite simply from.a different planet. Re-wrote the rules of goal keeping.

Andy Gray, he would put his head where most wouldn't put their feet.

Pat Van Den Hauwe - one very bard harstard.

Go check it out, you won't be disappointed.

I will. Did you watch any of the “This is Football”?

I thought the Rwanda one was just incredibly moving.

the Sunderland one is gripping stuff.

ours will trump it though

S3ason 2 starts April 1st and should be even better,  particularly as they all thought they'd walk  the league. Will be nice to see us at the top of the table too!

Amazon Prime. The Messi one is tremendous as well. A real look at what an extraordinary player he is. Football as science and art.

Thanks for the tip, will give it a watch. A great era to grow up watching football. Not a lot on TV but I could probably still name most of that Everton team as well as the Villa, Forest and Ipswich teams of euro glory.

Peter Reid was a great player who made the good players great with his work rate.

I watched parts of the Leeds one. Hilarious and captivating to watch the fans faces as their team implodes in front of their eyes

To think at the turn of the 70s Everton had as many titles as Liverpool before the latter’s incredible period thereafter.

When HK brought back the glory days the fans must’ve thought they’d be back for longer than they were. For 7 seasons from 82-88 the league title never left Merseyside.

Back on this thread, the doc touches on this game but well worth a deeper dive.

Check Nev's save in the final few minutes, it secured the Toffee's the title.

The Rwanda episode will forever make you wince when you hear some random moaning about “plastic fans”.

Just watched it. Such a beautiful country and such terrible events. Amazing that they can be so forgiving and move on as they have.

It’s wonderful isn’t it? I was genuinely moved in a way that makes you love football for the power it can have.

Enjoy the Messi one! Fantastic for very different reasons.

Smashed match of the 70's and 80's on YouTube. When men were men and wilkinson sword had to have billboards at the ground.

Top viewing👍🏻
