We were originally going to find a pub to watch the football but obviously that's screwed. Still going however, just decided to change it to a bit of a crawl. Will be going Haymarket, Dalry, Gorgie, Polwarth, Fountainbridge then back to Haymarket via Morrison St. Obviously a fair few boozers along that route, does anyone know of any that are going to be shut due to corona and if it would be advisable to change the route if there are too many shut? They’ve stayed open as they realise that mindless idiots will risk spreading COVID-19 for the sake of a couple of pints. Last night the Spanish police descended on all the bars and restaurants and closed them immediately. All staff were ordered home and “instructed “ to self-isolate for two weeks. They were told to take food and drink from the restaurant as the restaurant would not be open for at least 2 weeks. I know this post isn’t in the spirit of what the OP intended but this is potentially in the post for us too and is somewhat related. My wife works in a small pub/restaurant and if they are forced to close then we will be up shit creek. It’s not just about what will happen to the elderly (and as I’m nearer 60 than 50 with an existing heart condition I am considered vulnerable) but what will happen when society stops in its tracks? Restrictions on travel, restrictions on people going to work will end up with many thousands of people not being able to pay their rent or mortgage.
