Going a pub crawl tomorrow

As it says; going for a few beers and a catch up tomorrow with a mate in Edinburgh. We were originally going to find a pub to watch the football but obviously that's screwed.

Still going however, just decided to change it to a bit of a crawl.

Will be going Haymarket, Dalry, Gorgie, Polwarth, Fountainbridge then back to Haymarket via Morrison St.

Obviously a fair few boozers along that route, does anyone know of any that are going to be shut due to corona and if it would be advisable to change the route if there are too many shut?

Don’t think any pubs are shut. They’ve stayed open as they realise that mindless idiots will risk spreading COVID-19 for the sake of a couple of pints.

The greed and stupidity of people will kill millions of folks Grannies and Grandads.

They've stayed open because the Government hasn't told them otherwise. Blame the Government rather than pubs or folk going for pints. They're not doing anything they've been told not to.

Some times you need to put on your big boy pants and take social responsibility. We are armed with the facts and can take our own steps to avoid the spread.

Putting on big boy pants also involves not overreacting and following the advice of experts.

Aye, because when we feel like shite the first thing we do is head to the pub right enough.

You serious so some barmaids income is worth the lives of the old. Nae bother.

This is the attitude that has most elderly and vulnerable people doomed in this country.

The virus has a 5 day incubation period where you are contagious but don’t know you have it. Some people can carry it and have no symptoms so that blows that logic out the water.

people are selfish,

what if that barmaid is living paycheck to paycheck, then they end up homeless

so i say you are also selfish as you will cause people serious financial hardship that might mean they dont eat or end up homeless

Ok then we will just kill the old.

N Lincs Jambo

The daughter of a friend of mine moved to start a new bar/reception job on the Costa del Sol at the end of February.

Last night the Spanish police descended on all the bars and restaurants and closed them immediately. All staff were ordered home and “instructed “ to self-isolate for two weeks. They were told to take food and drink from the restaurant as the restaurant would not be open for at least 2 weeks.

I know this post isn’t in the spirit of what the OP intended but this is potentially in the post for us too and is somewhat related.

My wife works in a small pub/restaurant and if they are forced to close then we will be up shit creek. It’s not just about what will happen to the elderly (and as I’m nearer 60 than 50 with an existing heart condition I am considered vulnerable) but what will happen when society stops in its tracks?

Restrictions on travel, restrictions on people going to work will end up with many thousands of people not being able to pay their rent or mortgage. Tbh I’m actually more concerned about what could happen if we overreact than about the virus itself.

Yeah.  Nice responsible attitude not giving a shit about who you pass it onto.

Hope you have no elderly relatives or people with health conditions.
