Tenerife hotels due to open on 1st July. Will be interesting to see what countries will be permitted to fly in though.

I thought they were opening for Spanish only ? Think they want mainland Spanish to holiday on the Spanish islands this year to get tourism going.

Folk need to realise restrictions are only going to be partially lifted because there are currently enough beds available in intensive care units and people are being trusted to carry on isolating as much as possible, albeit to a slightly less harsh degree.

Nobody should be expecting to go back to normal life and pack their family onto an airplane to jet off for their holidays any time soon.

Just other outlets are now talking about what airlines are due to operate, what procedures are being put in place and what costs are anticipated.

The travel situations are evolving so fast that today's news will be outdated by the weekend.

Will depend on what quarantine guidelines are in place in six weeks' time.

It hasn't disappeared, but countries are adapting to live along side it.

Economies won't stay shut until a vaccine is found

Spain has introduced a 4 phase opening schedule, only 50% of Spain is currently in phase 1. Phase 2 will only allow internal movement between it's 17 provinces.

50% of spain still in phase zero.

No, but lots of things will be heavily restricted with social distancing measures in place. Don't expect to be going to theatres, gigs, clubs or packed pubs any time soon.

I don't know what levels of protection Visa Debit offers but may be worth exhausting to see if anything can be done down that route. 👍

As has been previously mentioned , speak to your bank about the chargeback scheme.

Maybe some small hope of foreign travel.

The whole 14 days when people re-enter the country is going to stop most people travelling.

Although if they continue to let people work from home, suppose it might work out.

No idea. Probably the bank who will deduct it from any monies due to the company.

The bank pay you back and then reclaim it from the vendor, they do warn you that if they are unsuccessful they can ask you to repay.

It's totally discretionary whether they do it or not but I've used it in the past.

Have I Been Pwned? (HIBP, with "Pwned" pronounced like "poned,"[2] and alternatively written with the capitalization 'have i been pwned?') is a website that allows internet users to check whether their personal data has been compromised by data breaches. The service collects and analyzes hundreds of database dumps and pastes containing information about billions of leaked accounts, and allows users to search for their own information by entering their username or email address. Users can also sign up to be notified if their email address appears in future dumps. The site has been widely touted as a valuable resource for internet users wishing to protect their own security and privacy.[3][4] Have I Been Pwned? was created by security expert Troy Hunt on 4 December 2013.

As of June 2019, Have I Been Pwned? averages around one hundred and sixty thousand daily visitors, the site has nearly three million active email subscribers and contains records of almost eight billion accounts.[5]

If you scroll down to the bottom you will get more info......btw, no expert in this field (haven’t a clue) just searched after the link above was posted...........there are recommendations included but, it looks like signing up to stuff.

It should show you what site lost your info. I'd update your password where possible

Ps - not all breaches include personal info. Sometimes websites just lose mailing lists which may explain vast numbers of phishing attempts / spam

Greece looking to accept British holiday makers from June without need to quarantine. Apparently in discussions to see what can be agreed.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and members of his cabinet are due on Wednesday to unveil his government’s plan for reopening the country’s tourism market and for restarting the economy, after nearly two months in coronavirus lockdown.

Restarting tourism, which accounts for 18% of Greece’s gross domestic product, is the cornerstone of the economic recovery plan, and Kathimerini understands that this will include the reopening of the country’s borders to travelers from across the European Union, but also Israel, by July 1 at the latest and possibly by as early as June 15.

Major hotel chains operating on a seasonal basis have already adopted new protocols and safety measures to protect staff and guests from the spread of Covid-19 in anticipation of the government’s announcement for their reopening, after it gave year-round hotels and resorts the green light to restart operations on June 1.

Hoteliers have told Kathimerini that they expect a relatively good summer season given speculation that seasonal hotels may be allowed to reopen before July 1, but also plans for the resumption of flights within Europe’s passport-free Schengen Zone by the end of next month. Their prospects will become clearer once the government announces what specific support measures it is planning for the sector.

I think at the moment if staying at a hotel in the usual hotspot resorts there is zero chance of having a good holiday while being safe at the same time. Seems incredibly risky to me.

Been thinking this as well, sure you can go aboad on holiday but what sort of enjoyment is it going to be with all the inevitable restrictions which will have to be put in place.

Just one example, the hotel pool, there will have to be social distancing in place, so at least 50% less sunbeds, hard enough getting a sunbed at times as it was, so good luck with that one, and the pool, social distancing in the pool as well, and would you really want to be going in the pool and swimming in the same water as dozens of other people.  Sure there will probably be plenty of chlorine in the pool to kill the virus, but that's not going to do your skin much good.

It's not just how safe it'll be to travel, it's the overall enjoyment of the trip that I think will be severely impacted, certainly this year for sure.
