Stendel mentioned when he first came that he found it strange to be asked these questions and about injured players, “why would you tell your opponents these things”. Ignoring the merits or otherwise of this, it does not seem a good idea to publiicise his plan before a very important game. It seems to me it is one step short of sending Goodwin our team sheet. Maybe we should wait and see what his team is before making assumptions. But even if it turns out to be true then I would imagine Goodwin has already got a fair idea of what to expect from us. I noticed that Gregor Townsend announced his starting 15 for the Rugby match yesterday on Saturday fully 24 hours before kick-off. I am not sure that it makes a huge difference what the team is especially when other teams have you watched in games to see how you play. We don't have a good enough squad to spring the odd surprise selection that might throw a spanner in the opposition teams plans.

Calebs Grandad
Merely an option Stendel voiced so worthy of discussion. Can you imagine a manager deciding to play with no strikers? Nope me neither just couldn’t happen could it? 😳

GinRummy
If we start out with two wingers plus Naismith, Boyce and Washington I’d expect Naismith to play deep in midfield and only push up when attacking. I wouldn’t imagine he’d start many games with Damour or Bozanic on their own up against, say, three midfielders.

Everybody and his dug knows that we are limited up front and if Boyce Washington and Naismith are fully fit these days, they’re all starting in forward roles although not necessarily a front 3. We won’t start with a front 3 vs St Mirren either. Might turn into that if we get in trouble. He’s played a front 4 and even a 5 at stages of games already. limited up front?
