Results would suggest its Rangers.......they’ve been chucking games for about 2 months.

Up until about the 70th minute in Dingwall today I was beginning to think theRangers were deliberately chucking it against all the teams in the relegation battle after we ended their season...twice

Call me petty and paranoid but that did cross my mind .

Mental. Something deeply wrong at Hamilton with gambling.

Not going to be anything that will benefit us but is really troubling.

Raman Bhardwaj @STVRaman

Hamilton statement re Sunday Post story: On Thursday 27th Feb one of our senior youth coaches advised HAFC he had been contacted by the police to be questioned in relation to a yellow card incident that took place during season 2018/19.

The coach in question advised us he has since met with the police. HAFC have not been contacted directly and it is our understanding that no one has been charged with any offence.

As the Police enquiry is ongoing it would be inappropriate for the club to comment any further at this time.

As it was last season I doubt there's any chance of a point deduction for this season. Club wouldn't be punished unless it's proven they were aware of the players involved actions imo.

If it is proven that there was "match fixing" in terms of on the field actions, e.g getting a yellow card, then the club cannot disassociate itself from the player(s) involved.

What season it happened would be irrelevant. They would be hammered in the here and now.

Not sure if it makes a difference but was he not club captain? ie in a position of greater responsibility and influence - and at a club where there manager has been reprimanded for breaching gambling rules.    Surely the club could well get punished and not just an individual?

Was thinking this. If it's on cards, yellow or red. Then that would affect a match to some degree.

Didn’t sink in at first just how many people might be involved. Players instructed to get yellow cards would probably want a bung. Not a huge stretch that a manager with financial and gambling issues may be involved. Could have layers of this shit at Hamilton and possibly co-operation with other clubs (but that’s maybe stretching a bit).

Bookies shouldn’t be allowed to take bets on anything other than goals.

Yellow cards, corners etc too easy to manipulate and less obvious than cheating a goal.

Is a player making money on bookings considered match fixing though? Massive difference from actively trying to lose a game by a set score etc?

I wouldn’t want to avoid relegation because of this.

Would be awful if St. Mirren were somehow involved.

Disagree completely. If a players on a yellow it can affect his play.

But not to Hamilton's advantage?

Of course I was just being snarky, as the "no sporting advantage" exception only applies to Rangers, even when they did gain a fecking big advantage.

Didn’t get the Rangers reference, got it now 👍.

As for not to Hamilton’s advantage by its very nature it has to be to someone’s advantage. Corrupts the game.

Mind years ago that Motherwell player got sent off against us in suspicious circumstances.

Spot fixing must happen so often.

Adao probably left us as a millionaire getting his pals to bet on him being booked.

Nobody found this sentence funny and ironic

"“It is essential that the hard-won and well-justified reputation for integrity in our game is preserved.”"

Aye right

Agreed, and the player should certainly get hammered for it. I suppose you could argue that the club failed to stop him, especially if it turns out that there had been suspicions, so hopefully they'll get punished on that basis.

Yes. Plus the supposed leaked footage from the M'well dressing room with the same player punching stuff to show how angry he was. Can't remember his name but the player was a scouser and it was said that there were an unusual number of bets placed in the Merseyside area on that player being sent off.

Good thinking. You either get the penalty for your team, or the yellow to earn your £££ on your preferred gambling site. Win-win.

5 point deduction for Parma for match fixing couple years ago.

4 point deduction for Clyde for fielding an ineligible player.

An ex-player and current coach of Hamilton. He was in the dugout at our last match vs them.

Two coaches found to have been tinkering with gambling and fixing.

This is just what they’ve been found out doing, although Rice came forward himself.

Who is to say what they’ve been up to and got away with, up to now. Probably not the only club with a problem either.

Steve Jennings, who just happened to come from Merseyside.  IIRC One of the alleged betters was Wayne Rooney senior.
