Shed Loading Times

Does anyone else have to wait ages for The Shed to load up. Never happens with The Terrace and happens every time with The Shed. Annoying.

Same on my iPad and Android mobile.

Sometimes it’s that bad I have to login again.

I posted multiple times on the First pay topic had to do some major editing.

It’s strange the problem considering it’ll be the same server.

Doctor FinnBarr

Had this problem on my PC for a few months now but my mobile is fine. If I go to the Terrace now then come back its fine but if I leave kickback it does it again, can take 30 secs or so sometimes.

Any idea why mods? Is it deliberate? I don't understand technical things so don't even know if intentionally doing such a thing would be possible.

Database will be needing sorted is my guess.

Either that, or it's stored on a server somewhere else, or possibly a failing disc.

I noticed a while ago too.   Thought that's what the maintenance was for the other week.

Once you are in the shed the threads load fine though.Mine has been like this for months but this week I have been getting a message up the top telling me to retry to load live version.

We're aware of the problem and our tech guy is checking into it.

No clue currently.

Slow for me for around two weeks now and, since Tuesday, I’m now getting the ‘retry to load live version’ message too.

Only happens on the iPad.  Fine on the phone and on my wife’s MacBook.

I wouldn't say i've had a problem with loading times but i've had daft advertisements appear and move the whole screen when i'm about to click on a link.

We made a change but it didn't help.

We're still working at it.  Thanks for your patience.

Our tech support is still working on this.

However, I just did a test by switching from Chrome to Firefox.  My response time was improved dramatically.

I've switched from Chrome to Firefox while accessing JKB, and the response time problem for me is gone.

Here is a message we received from our technical support after a test of Incognito mode, which showed no signs of poor response time:

if Incognito mode is fast and normal mode is slow it's perhaps just a dud cookie of some sort you've picked up.
Clearing your cookies/cache might be all you need to do to restore speed to normal mode.

To do this:

  • Go to chrome://settings in your browser bar
  • Click Privacy and security on the left
  • Click Clear browsing data
  • Click Basic
  • Set Time Range: All time then tick only
    • Cookies and other site data
    • Cached images and files
  • Click Clear data

Close Chrome, open it and give JKB a whirl again.

Be warned, doing this will log you out of most sites that have remembered your login.

There you have it.  Two possible solutions to the problem. It's up to the individual user to decide what is the correct solution for himself / herself.

I just use the Samsung Internet app, so it isn't just a Chrome issue. Will try clearing cookies etc anyway.

I’m not an android guy but I suspect Samsung Internet probably runs off chromium webdriver.

Am I meant to know what that means?

A likely solution has already been suggested. Project complete.

Clearing cookies worked for me. Not an ideal solution though having to then re-login to every website you have a password saved for.

You can clear cookies for a particular site.

If you're using Chrome go to chrome://settings/siteData then search for the site you want and you can clear them down individually that way
