The new West End Posted April 10, 2025 Posted April 10, 2025 Looks like a good run of gigs on at La Belle for the Fringe
neilnunb Posted April 11, 2025 Posted April 11, 2025 Sparks have added the Edinburgh Playhouse on 18th July to their tour. Very tempting.
Kalamazoo Jambo Posted April 12, 2025 Posted April 12, 2025 Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds coming up one week from today
boag1874 Posted April 16, 2025 Posted April 16, 2025 Pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs were quality at La Belle last night - really not a fan of the venue because of those enormous pillars unfortunately but a phenomenal band

Those pillars are a total pain and the stage is way too low.

boag1874 Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 First time at a “phone-less” gig Ghost at the Hydro last night (phones had to be placed into a pouch which then sealed magnetically & could only be unsealed by staff, there were designated phone use points in the concourses). God it was so much better, all gigs should do it.
Jacques de Gauthier Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 Lang Lang on Monday in Glasgow followed by Young Gun Silver Fox next month.

I don't mind someone taking a couple of short videos & a couple of photos but people that literally hold their phone up for near enough the full show do my absolute head in & I'd rather just a blanket ban on phones for that reason.

Agreed. Although I really don't understand the need for people to take photos/videos of everything they do in life.

I was there as well and the phone thing really worked for me, added to the experience and felt like i was in the 90’s, i thought ghost and the whole show were outstanding, 2 hours flew in, fantastic gig.

Really good gig. That band he's with has a great set of CVs. The lead guitarist, Doug Boyle, was Robert Plant's guitarist; the percussionist was a real livewire. Good choice of songs as well.

Some fairly decrepit looking individuals in the crowd outside when I walked past it. There comes a time when you have to hold your hand up and admit the mod hairstyle isn't a thing for you anymore. Or the tour t-shirt from a Who tour 20 years and several sizes ago.

the original dalry llama Posted May 3, 2025 Posted May 3, 2025 Stag & Dagger is probably my favourite Scottish gig event of the year. First of a few upcoming gig trips to Glasgow.
the original dalry llama Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 I’ve got four gigs in Glasgow in the next seven days: Tonight - The Moonlandingz at the Classic Grand Friday - Say Sue Me at CCA (nice to see CCA back in action) Sunday - illuminati hotties (supporting PUP who I have no idea about) at SWG3 Tuesday - Panic Shack at King Tut's
jimbojambo Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Got tickets for James at the O2 on 22 May. Reasonable price @ £55 too

Not so great in their support slot for Jimmy Eat World at the tail end of last year but I'm not sure the big venue or a crowd of a couple of thousand aging former emo kids did them any favours!

Didn't know that about the lead guitarist. 👍 I wish someone had punched the guy at the back who was obviously steaming and kept shouting.
Jambos_1874 Posted May 13, 2025 Posted May 13, 2025 Just back from Bryan Adams at the OVO in Glasgow. Wouldn't consider myself a fan but he was absolutely superb. Was surprised just how many of his songs I knew and he put on a great show.

I was at Michael Schenker at the Garage last night. Playing the UFO Years, great sound and fantastic melodic riffs and solos.
lou Posted May 15, 2025 Posted May 15, 2025 Was at Bruce Springsteen last night, what a show, his energy in incredible and it's safe to say he is not a Trump fan
