Sparks have added the Edinburgh Playhouse on 18th July to their tour. Very tempting.

It was a decent gig but didn't mange to see very much. Those pillars are a total pain and the stage is way too low.

Awful venue

First time at a “phone-less” gig Ghost at the Hydro last night (phones had to be placed into a pouch which then sealed magnetically & could only be unsealed by staff, there were designated phone use points in the concourses).

God it was so much better, all gigs should do it.

Anyone videoing part of a gig should have to watch our performance at Fir Park last weekend on repeat for eternity.

I don't mind someone taking a couple of short videos & a couple of photos but people that literally hold their phone up for near enough the full show do my absolute head in & I'd rather just a blanket ban on phones for that reason.

Agreed. Although I really don't understand the need for people to take photos/videos of everything they do in life.

it was a good gig, apart from the mess of trying to get into the hydro

i agree, i dont mind the odd photo being taken but you have paid however much to go to a gig and you have your phone out rather than watching and enjoying the show

Apparently a safety issue with the production was what delayed the doors opening - thought once they opened entry was pretty smooth tbf to the door staff & the phone thing definitely didn't seem to add any noticeable time on which was good to see

supposidly a curtain had fell down on the stage. my issue was, there was a lack of direction of which queue to be in for seating/standing. everyone was in one queue and then got split after something like 30 minutes

I was there as well and the phone thing really worked for me, added to the experience and felt like i was in the 90’s, i thought ghost and the whole show were outstanding, 2 hours flew in, fantastic gig.

The Bob Dylan gig at the Usher Hall used those pouches and did that. Should be the norm imo.

I was there. Really good gig. That band he's with has a great set of CVs. The lead guitarist, Doug Boyle, was Robert Plant's guitarist; the percussionist was a real livewire. Good choice of songs as well.

Some fairly decrepit looking individuals in the crowd outside when I walked past it. There comes a time when you have to hold your hand up and admit the mod hairstyle isn't a thing for you anymore. Or the tour t-shirt from a Who tour 20 years and several sizes ago.

I hope I get old before I die, or something along those lines.  🎵

PUP can be great live, saw them a bunch of times about 10 years ago and loved every show, loads of energy. Not so great in their support slot for Jimmy Eat World at the tail end of last year but I'm not sure the big venue or a crowd of a couple of thousand aging former emo kids did them any favours!

Cool, I'll give them a bash.

Yeah. It was really good and even the missus enjoyed it. Didn't know that about the lead guitarist.  👍   I wish someone had punched the guy at the back who was obviously steaming and kept shouting.

Just back from Bryan Adams at the OVO in Glasgow. Wouldn't consider myself a fan but he was absolutely superb. Was surprised just how many of his songs I knew and he put on a great show.

Not a fan either but chumed my partner to see him a couple of years ago and both him and the band were excellent.

I was at Michael Schenker at the Garage last night. Playing the UFO Years, great sound and fantastic melodic riffs and solos.
