Olives are an acquired taste, but i suppose the same goes for gherkins. Give them another go! Marinaded in garlic is the best way to go, get some fetta cheese in there inawl. And a wee bowl of dukkah (spice mix, usually sesame seeds, hazelnuts, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, chilli flakes, salt and finely shredded fresh mint).
