Any particular reason why Liverpool aren't taking the FA cup seriously? They are miles ahead in the league.

If they win the FA cup too easily then they have nothing to moan about, and they won't like that.

Got a cheek to moan about fixture congestion and then field a team that increases their chances of having replays. It's a shame as the FA cup is a great competition and they're going out of their way to devalue it.

They are however the FA CUp has been getting devalued by all the big clubs, even some in the championship for years

Of the last 10 winners, only Wigan have been a small club. The rest are all top 6 teams, so it's fair to say they've been taking it quite seriously.

Liverpool haven't one it for 14 years so not sure they're in a position to be treating it with such disdain.

Perhaps he just wanted to make sure the 1st team got the EPL break. Bear in mind a fair %  of tonights team emptied the bitters out the cup in the last round. But hey, haters gonna hate!

It’s not so much that they aren’t taking it seriously but there is a two break and their senior players had already been given the time off and booked holidays etc. They’ve worked incredibly hard so to tell them their holidays are now cancelled would be ridiculous. It was also the FA who initially told all PL clubs that the break was to be respected and no friendlies should be arranged.

If they'd taken the first leg seriously they more than likely wouldn't be playing a match tonight and they could all be sitting with their feet up.

Interesting they had the desire to go to Doha to play in the club world cup...a tournament that really isn't more than a glorified exhibition.

It is a requirement to play in the Club World Cup. Manchester United had to forfeit the FA cup due to it.

Indeed. Correct decision by Klopp.

A requirement to play your first 11 or a requirement to play in it? Fair enough if it's the first one, I didn't know that.

They’re not taking it seriously in the slightest. They played their youth team in the original match, let a two goals lead slip and then had the audacity to moan about it messing up the EPL winter break. Reserves against Everton as well, who got embarrassed as they played a full strength team. Klopp hasn’t won a domestic trophy yet at Liverpool, so the disdain for the FA cup is embarrassing. Go for the treble to really irk Manchester United.

Sadly quite a few teams see little value in the cup anymore. The prize money is small fry and teams can earn more by securing a decent league position. I think Liverpool see it as an inconvenience.
