We could do with tweaking the tactics to have a sweeper providing extra cover for the long ball behind us or ball into the centre, either of which is leaving us exposed. Bobby wouldn’t have done that as he isn’t decisive enough. On the other hand I expect Bobby would have saved at least one of yesterday’s three goals. Swings and roundabouts, neither are great options. For that reason I would stick with Pereira. If the change isn’t for a stronger player then it’s just change for change sake... Never been into unforced changes but you need to put your best options back in if fit. Most of the team are starting to get an understanding so keep it largely similar to last couple of games. Defence. Need to persist with Souttar - Halkett partnership and let it develop. Clare has made RB his own, unless Stendel decides to move him forward and bring Smith in. LB depends on who is fit. Assuming Hickey or Garuccio are still out, I'd prefer Sibbick to White who looked OK first half against Rangers but struggled yesterday. Midfield. I loved Sibbick in midfield against Rangers but he wasn't as good yesterday. If he's fit, I'd play Smith with Irving to give us a bit more solidity and composure. But Irving has played a lot so may be due a rest. Attacking 3. I think Washington deserves a start on one side of Naismith. The other slot is up for grabs. Meshino and Avdijaj have been disappointing. Henderson didn't look great yesterday. Maybe it's Walker's turn again to try to prove himself. Striker. Boyce obviously. Barring injuries I hope we can keep Naismith in his role behind Boyce for the full game and not end up with him playing defensive midfield to accommodate subs. No need to bring on Uche, Arvidjaj, Meshino or Henderson if it disrupts the shape of the team. I agree as indicated on another thread, in that we have missed a trick by not recruiting a new No 1 in the transfer window.
