It used to be the cultural norm to lock up (or worse) gay men. Now we have gay marriage - and most people think that’s fine & fair. Things change. “Cultural norms” change. We need more cultural norms imo.

On another note I was speaking to some Polish bar workers last night who start back on the 20th July. They can't believe the generosity of the UK govt. and people for paying them 80% of their wages for 4 months. They are aware that their jobs will probably go over the next few months, but it has given them the opportunity to plan for the future. They wouldn't have had that in most Nations around the Globe. I know a few Spanish workers that are furloughed and hanging about here until it ends then heading home. Fair play, they're entitled to do that 😊

Samuel Camazzola
Twits everywhere! As an observation from the various news reports shown yesterday, it would seem that the majority of the mask wearers need to wash their hands more. The amount of touching and fidgeting they are carrying out on their masks means their paws are more germ-riddled than before they started wearing them. 🤮 A lot of dafties wearing them with their nose exposed too! 😂 The whole tick-box exercise is a sham. Nero have now decided that they are hospitality and not retail, so customers now dont have to wear a mask, despite face to face sales. My wife has taken this up with senior management at Nero but shes not expecting much, considering how they've treated staff and managed the situation. So, you have to wear a mask to buy a shirt from primark, but no mask needed to buy a coffee. Logical. Braw. Got a Nero up the street so will head in for a nice coffee. I get it the nhs had first dibs on face masks and rightly so but that shortage was over a while back ( at least I think it was ) Had my first visit to the shops wearing a mask today other than feeling a bit silly the biggest issue was the glasses fogging up when breathing , wife sarcastically said to just stop breathing then !!!!!! Less shops open with less footfall 5 or 6 ago.

highlandjambo3
Some of the use of masks on/off, de- masking, masking up, how it’s done can seem quite daunting, especially for the hard of thinking but, to try and simplify it, a disposable mask can be used again, within reason and should be used as follows (here goes)....... 1. When masking up - Clean your hands first, don’t touch anything else except your mask, put your mask on. 2. Whilst wearing a mask - touch what you like but don't touch your mask. If you need to adjust your mask, clean your hands first. 3. Removing your mask - clean your hands and don’t touch anything else until you remove your mask. Pop mask into a wee bag, resealable food bag is good. You now have a disposable mask you can use again (within reason). It does not belong scrunched up in your pocket, hanging from your arm, hanging off one ear etc..... Simple No?
willie wallace
Was in the supermarket yesterday and saw no one without a mask. highlandjambo3
I agree.............. I have no real expertise to challenge anyone in their specialist field, of course we all have an opinion and can rightly express that with freedom of speech, even the experts contradict themselves or challenge each other and that’s what puts doubt in people’s mind. But, see me, I genuinely believe that the experts who give advice are genuinely trying to plough through this as best they can, of course the goalposts change, people need to see that the goalposts have changed instead of spouting “they don’t know what they are doing” (IMO). If a lifeguard shouts “shark” I’m going to clear the sea, I’m not going to doubt his actual sighting or try to convince myself the shark is veggie, If you do your likely to be out their swimming alone. See if the shark is a couple of kids with a rubber fin on their back, so what, the lifeguard did what he though best at that time. Ill continue to take what’s the best advice from the experts......... I cannot say anymore on the subject as my eyes are misting up with this mask I’m wearing 😷

Unlikely given the nature of politics but you would hope the negative impact of lockdown on health would have input into any future measures on pandemics. Although it may all get lost in the brexit .
