My friend got results of his PCR test and it was positive . He thinks he caught it at his gym as he noticed that most of the goers don’t wear masks etc . But who knows . He is fine now . He had runny nose last Monday and but since then he is fine . So I Assume he probably contracted it last Saturday or Sunday if he started showing symptoms on Monday / Tuesday last week ?

It's only 4 days on from the England match.  If visitors to London are now tested and confirmed as positive,  surely they're almost certain to have acquired infection prior to Friday.

Could be either of those scenarios probably !

Yep ! I think she was flabbergasted by Andy Burnhams response to it ! He didn’t pull any punches . She must have thought she was dealing with her colleagues in the shortbread senate

How has the BG managed to agree with Uefa that we can have 60000 at Wembley for semi’s and final? They are saying peoples health comes first but then are willing to concede to letting people have 24hours isolation if they come into Britain to attend games. (Fans/vips this is)

These government decisions have happened right throughout the pandemic. The Cheltenham races, the Liverpool game, Johnson wanting the Indian trade deal have all been swayed in favour of delaying shut downs and jeopardising the lifting of restrictions. We are now suffering from another of Johnson’s delays.

Best judgment on lifting restrictions dependant on data will be at the 19th July next review date.

Along with the success of the UK vaccination programme, the newer, milder symptoms reported may mean, with increased cases, a quicker move to herd immunity

The supply of vaccines remains an issue regarding progress towards vaccinating all adults.

The weekly allocation of vaccines from the UK procurement services to Scotland was only 116,550 in the week to 21 June.  That is well below what the country needs to hit its target. Let's hope it rises again in future weeks.

That witch now banning currants? Where does she get off? Sultanas and raisins no doubt next as we progress to eradicating all dried up fruits from Scotland. What that means for Craig Hill is anyone's guess.

Oh, current restrictions? My bad. What actually are they? I didn't see many restrictions re parties and gatherings as I walked home from the West End on Friday evening.

I think a lot of people are ignoring them now. The only ones suffering appear to be businesses.

The cockney variant.

Symptoms include an insistance on speaking in rhyming slang, singing "knees aap mavaah brahhhn", and being a complete .

The people who have recovered from this double variant are easily recognised - they are the ones with the 'weel kent' faces

Does anyone know why the numbers are so bad in Scotland.  That’s not a loaded question but a genuine one.

Looking at today’s numbers our figures are miles above where they should be proportionately against the rest of the UK.

What am I missing why are we so far ahead in terms of infection rates?

Ask yourself “ is my child at risk of dying of covid ? It’s hIghly unlikely they are . Therefore why give permission for them to have an untried vaccine ? Yes I know all about herd immunity etc and more people vaccinated means less hosts for the virus 🦠 but children have perfectly healthy robust immune systems which is clearly evidenced by the minimal deaths of people them from it . The Govt is playing on parental fears and it’s shameful really . As for schools , keep them open all the time , if there is an outbreak in a class ,, test the kids in that class and if positive they need to be sent home , like we got sent home with nits . It’s a small price to Pay to  keep schools open as children need them open for a wide variety of reasons

Think you're downplaying or are ignorant of the impact of covid in kids.

Clearly they are less at risk but we should still be trying to mitigate them getting it whilst minimising the impact on their education i.e. improved ventilation in schools.

As for vaccinating kids, as a parent I'd veer towards giving the vaccine once approved but understand other parents not feeling the same and not wanting to.

Not downplaying it at all . Check the stats regarding child deaths of those under 16 . Most or actually all had serious underlying  health conditions .

I wasn't talking about deaths but long term conditions.

There's a long covid kids website and long covid hubs which treat kids, recently set up in England, so it's not quite as straightforward as saying kids don't die, therefore they are fine.

Think it’s too soon to say it’s over but the end might be in sight.

Still looks like WFH will remain the default position and shops can ask you to wear masks.

Sorry this must be wrong.

As so many posters have said on here, repeatedly, Nicola Sturgeon doesn’t make the same mistakes as Boris by focusing on dates and not data.

The trip by the TA to London is going to bite bad, I know of 11 people who are friends of mine who tested positive today and I’m hearing Broxburn (not sure if Athletic) who were down have all tested positive.

I wonder if those who trot out the "...aaah but long Covid" line were/are as concerned about thousands that have suffered with ME, glandular fever or numerous other debilitating conditions that can last for weeks, months or years. Post-viral conditions are nothing new but giving it a label - all the rage these days are labels - has just fed exacerbated the national paranoia with Covid.

My sister just off the phone saying my nephew has it plus most of the 15 mates he went down on the train with have it

The good thing is he’s neither up or down and he’s had one of his vaccines

I’m in East Lothian so we could be top of the league table by tomorrow after having the lowest rates in Scotland a month ago
