It last a sensible not panic stricken post.

Agree to an extent but wouldn't go as far as JG .. and people should be doing all they can at least to reduce the risk to others including the risk of the NHS collapsing.

But one of the more frightening stories to me was the other day about the Coronovirus  victim on a ventilator whose heart stopped … but was restarted. I'd certainly like to have Do Not Resuscitate option.

Running is one of the things that I reckon will keep me going. Hopefully common sense will prevail and if there is a lock down, sensible application is given. If people are clearly out running or or for excercise then they shouldn't be bothered.

I'll PM you later mate for some workout advice

No problem 👍🏻

It'll be an ending like we have for flu though in that it is a controlled virus, as much as it can be imo.

Imo this is how itll go

You would think they would be closer to finding a treatment, especially given the vaccine is months/years away given estimations in media.

They maybe already have one, who's to say this isn't weaponized flu designed to icapacitie a country before takeover, In a month or 2 the ones the released it will magically have a vaccine, Theres accusations of this being manmade from the Americans and Chinese. Theres no point panicking about this if it gets you then your 99% likely to be okay unless your old or have health problems but the common cold can kill you off.

...a bit disco

My wife just got a text with a link for advice as she falls in the vulnerable group.

Basically self isolating within the house, NO going out, separate cutlery, crockery, tea towel, etc.

Getting a tad worried now.

And peoples mental well-being? Not disagreeing with you just looking at different problems cause by isolation.

this is the crux of that , iv seen pts and people bitching because they are on roids and need to lift weights. **** them.... however people have a horrendous few months ahead for the most part mentally if this disease goes as predicted. Its important to support each other through it on that aspect. Be it FaceTime , phonecalls , helping with workouts , peoples stress levels having a household all staying in , trying to work , kids going daft , its all going to add stress thats before you add the risk of losing loved ones.

Have a google of things like

L-Glutamine

5HTP

Taurine

all things that may help focus and gut health/serotonin production

Don't most accidents happen the home? The problem is people will abuse the right to exercise. A posse of about twelve joggers passed me on my short walk to the shop this morning. They seemed to be maintaining a 2 or 3 metre gap as they jogged along. But they stopped now and then to have a chat with one or two others in the group which kind of defeated the object.

The excuses from the idiots will be that the government didn't put us in lockdown quick enough... What part of dont go outside or have people around do people not understand?  If you went socialising with anyone that isn't a member of your household this weekend then I'm afraid you are to blame for what is about to come.

Selfish idiots, I only hope it is them that feels the pain and not some poor bugger that has tried to follow the rules and gets caught up in other people's reckless behaviour.

If you have ignored the advice don't blame the government when you are left gasping for air in the hospital carpark.

Some people blame the government for anything and everything.  Surprised they can wipe their own backsides themselves. I've heard many things blamed for all this i.e Trump (obviously), Tories, Capitalism - it is never ending.

I can barely even accept the 'beginning'.  It is all hyped up to me.  Due to the demands of the public and global social media we have had fear instilled into us and are on lockdown.  300,000 people die everyday, this is a granular in comparison.  As previously said, there are more people live in my street than the entire recorded cases in Scotland alone.  We live in a world of group think and are being outlived and taken over by snowflake generations.

You sir are an idiot , id say with all due respect but......

Yes it may be hyped highly but the overwhelming nature of it on the NHS is making it a worldwide catastrophe. It is as serious to human life as anything since world war 2. If you want to live as normal and ignore guidelines its not just you ya put at risk its others and that deserves no respect.

No idea why you are so protected on here , there is no one who trolls like you....

I get that but being careful and sensible and thoughtful to others for a few months out of a lifetime is not a bad thing. It needs people to work together to get through this as safely as possible. None of us will have families who are immune to it.

There are some seriously clever people out there working against this virus. The Scottish scientist, she is mentioned a couple of times earlier in this thread, based in Seattle was interviewed this morning and said it took them three hours, yep only three hours, to create their vaccine after the Chinese released full details of the Coronavirus genome.

They will get there, they simply have to.

It is, and I'd agree with you, but to suggest herd immunity in the first place was mind boggling, I'd rather over estimate how bad this is than under estimate it mate, if that makes sense.

This , it may be a case of flatten the curve til one comes out but the money that will be made by whoever gets the vaccine is astronomical , such is the situation you could essentially vaccinate every human with it without questioning motives.

It's your attitude of it all, this isn't a dress rehearsal, it's real life, and real lives are going to be lost, I already nearly lost a dear friend of mine due to this virus, but thankfully she's seeing some light at the end of the tunnel, flippant attitudes like yours doesn't help matters at all. Over the next 2-3 weeks, our death rates are going to soar as we're on the same trajectory as Italy, there's makeshift morgues being set up all over the shop, and yet you seem to think that it's all over hyped and over stated.

sorry, its not overhyped.

we have a virus that has killed thousands in a couple of weeks in 1st world countries that are now lining their hospital corridors with people drowning in their own lung fluid that there is no ventilator to attatch them to.

IF you want that to be the picture in Scotland then crack on-

that is the reality.

Sure, you dont care about the elderly/ cancer patients/ kids with cystic fibrosis etc that have terrible odds if they get this- but some of us do, and we are merely asking the selfish pricks to stay inside to prevent them contracting this ,

If you want to be a nihilst or even go down the eugenics path with them - fine,  but dont drag us all along with you
