The fish is being quite positive.

Looks like next week kids will be allowed to meet up outdoors and probably allowing meeting of more people outside as well. I get the impression they will be fairly minor but every little step is a step closer to a return to normality.

Wow is that it ! Jezz ! People already meeting outdoors suppose it’s some scraps to feed the populous

Got a slight sore arm this morning after the vaccine yesterday.

Another thing I noticed was that I couldn't lift a 2'x2' slab. Bent down to lift it and had absolutely no power

I can usually lift them with my pinkie as well.

Apart from that, I fell brilliant

Got mine 3 days ago (AZ/Oxford) and apart from a wee bit of a sore arm (less than is usual with the flu jab) and a dull mild headache 4 or 5 hours after the jab, which was fine the next morning, I've had no other reactions.

So if anybody is worried about side effects..........well from personal experience and that's all I can comment on, is I had next to nothing & what I did have was very mild.

The latest vaccines contain Kryptonite to increase their efficacy. You should have mentioned you had superpowers when they were giving you the jab and they would have given you an alternative. Fortunately the effects are not long-lasting.

Scotland has recorded 11 deaths from coronavirus and 498 positive tests in the past 24 hours, Nicola Sturgeon has announced.

It brings the death toll under this measure – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 7,409.

Speaking at the Scottish Government’s coronavirus briefing, she said the daily test positivity rate is 3.1%, up from 2.5% the previous day.

There are 666 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus, down 52 in 24 hours, and 64 patients are in intensive care, down three.

Last Friday's figure for positive tests was 581 so there will be a modest reduction in the overall 7-day rate.

Any idea the deaths last Friday ?

11 is the lowest I can remember hearing in a while.

Glad to hear they are starting to build a platform for Vaccine Certificates. My only fear is they will be deliberately slow and controlling even if our figures are very good.

I doubt it. They want to kickstart tourism and there's countries very keen to open up for those with vaccine passport, with the same being applied the other way.

I would they would expedite it in line with other countries but they have always adopted a cautious approach and love to be different to what Boris does.

For anyone tracking vaccination data.

The new information for 2nd doses on the Vaccinations tab of the Public Tableau Dashboard isn't wholly accurate.  The numbers given appear to be correct, but the percentages in the graphics are wrong. e.g. 3,554 of 65-69s have had their 2nd dose which looks to be correct, but the percentage shown is 19.1% which is wrong. It should be 1.2% or thereabouts.

This is ridiculous behaviour. Is it fuelled by anti-Brexit/Xenophobic sentiment from within Germany? Those doses could protect so many people.

Be interesting to see how they and say France deal with the amended vaccines for new variants.

UK regulator has relaxed the approval process so its quicker. Proof the vaccine works accepted based on the original removing need for full trials.

With new variants you need to act quickly, and that's something Brussels is very unlikely to be able to do.

Might explain why Austria & Denmark have teamed up with Israel into working together in developing vaccines for any new variants, they know as well as the rest of us, that any particular new variant will probably have mutated 3 or 4 times by the time Brussels hums and haws and gets it's arse in gear.

We're grouped up with other nations including Australia.

Early data suggests the AZ vaccine is effective against the Brazilian variant first discovered in Manaus.

The source requested anonymity as the results have not yet been made public

I understand the source prefers anonymity in his personal life too

Toxteth O'Grady

NHS Lothian and Edinburgh in particular are not doing well with vaccine rates in comparison to other parts of Scotland.

For whatever reason it’s disappointing.

The supply is a bit patchy, but make sure it's only in the east :whistling:

Not busy, but a steady flow of people.

It was like a well oiled machine, loads of staff at every turn explaining things.

Hats off to whoever is running the vaccine programme

It was the same at the EICC.

Outstanding volunteers who are given the autonomy to set up their own shift procedures dependent on how busy it is.

;)

We're grouped up with other nations including Australia.

But we're helping everyone who asks re the genetic sequencing.

And thank goodness that the UK is a World leader in this, otherwise we'd never know what new variants were out there, until they hit us.

Peebles looked to be well run as well, everything was moving along at a good pace.

They were doing whole towns at a time, the day I there it was West Linton in the morning, Innerleithen in the afternoon. (When I say whole towns, I mean those eligible within that age group from that particular town)

Bit of trek for the West Linton folks though, about 15 miles each way to Peebles, quicker going to Penicuik which is half the distance, different health board though.

Be interesting to see how they and say France deal with the amended vaccines for new variants.

UK regulator has relaxed the approval process so its quicker. Proof the vaccine works accepted based on the original removing need for full trials.

The best thing AZ can do right now is tell the EU that any more vaccine blockades will mean the EU being excluded from vaccine 2.0 onwards.  The fannying around would soon stop.

Moving their manufacturing out of the EU would be more effective.

However, AZ is half Swedish, having been formed by a merger of Swedish company Astra and the UK's Zeneca (formerly part of ICI).  I think their Swedish interests will preclude AZ from taking unilateral action against the EU.

Which is also infuriating, yes. People young or old making good faith efforts to preserve the health and life of others is not indicative of us having "really failed", in either case.

Old people have always been selfish arseholes. I personally can't be bothered listening to their shite.

Glasgow and Aberdeen are low too. You’d have thought the areas of high population density would have been the best places to target
