Squad Cull

I'm sure everyone will agree with the big decions being made by stendel. I just hope the rest of the squad are ready to step up and be counted.

We are also in real need of 4-5 new first team players coming in and hitting the ground running.

This is a real make or break time for the club.

Leaving sentiment aside, it’s good that Stendel is starting by binning high earning players.  Key question is who’s next.

This was needed big time. In the position that we are currently in we can't afford passengers or sentiment.  It's going to be an interesting few weeks.

We are bottom for a reason, something has to give,

These so called older and experienced players who have been brought in for a wedge should be having a look at themselves for the predicament were in, were bottom of the league and on paper we have a squad (bar injuries) that should be competing for at least top 6.

If there was a JKB cull you’d be able to get out the house a bit more.

Lord Beni of Gorgie

Wighton, MacLean, Mulraney, Lee, pick a keeper any one, maybe even 2

There is a constant JKB cull.

possibly Naismith if he doesn't sort his injury issues out

Hard to get rid of a player on a 4-year deal if they are constantly injured. Naismith will stay, hopefully get fit quickly and score the goals to lead us to safety.

Harsh on Brandon he has been very good recently.

Don't think we can afford to bin Ikpeazu without having someone in to replace him or make sure Washington can play consistently.

The ones that are/were here/there haven't stepped up to be counted so even if they don't its the same as it is now.

For the record I believe they will and with a few half decent recruits we hopefully can stop the rot and move up the table.

Getting rid of the deadwood is the first step. Players akin to Mulraney, Wighton, Keena, White(due to injury history) should never be near a Hearts first team.

Berra and Whelan have been so disappointing as we know they could do better and unfortunately they didn't.

Would be delighted if Naismith and walker are next to leave (after Whelan and possibly Berra)

They are a massive dent in our budget and we need players available to play 90% of games not 10%, especially in our situation.

The only problem is they will be difficult to move on as they are on big long term contracts, no one else is going to give them a deal like they have at us as they are shit value for money.

Agree with all except Brandon. He’s actually played very well when called upon recently. I think he’ll stay to battle with Clare for the RB position.

Probably add Henderson to that too, he's hopeless as-well.

If it's a personal view then fine but he won't be going anywhere imo.

personal just don't think he can cut it, had a load of chances now.

only six month on contract left, I'd be surprised if he's done enough to earn a new one.

He already has been told!  (So have Wighton and Mulraney - plus Berra and Whelen but already reported).

Makes you laugh about the Uche to Celtic story from Oct 2019:

Were we due to play Celtic that week 😂😂

Jamie Walker must be drinking in the last chance saloon . Massive few months for him going forward . He'll be on decent money so will need to justify it going by Stendels recent actions

Can see Stendel bringing i8 in, lining the players up and i8 going along one by one - w**k, w**k, good guy, w**k  etc

Then Stendel thanks him and finalises the cull list.

Would Levein have got rid of any of them? doubt Berra anyway

No.

He would’ve bumbled along with the same shite for the rest of the season. Whilst telling the fans “to be patient” and “we’re nearly there”.

It’s a breath of fresh air having a manager who sees who is going to cut it and who’s not.

Bit unfair on Brandon - he's been excellent in his last couple of games and seems to have the energy to play the Stendel way.

He is - but not been recalled from Bonnyrigg Rose, so presumably not the manager intends to keep. Shame for the laddie but not everyone is good enough.
