The ‘dig’ at Jack Ross in our statement confirming Daniel Stendel as Hearts manager.

Whatever

Recommended Posts

This so called dig at Ross is trivia.

Were all glad to see the back of levein but Natural Order is a very important part of his legacy.  The reason it will continue to have impact is because it's true.  It always has been and it still is.

Best of it is that our great friends in the East also know it's  true and they are utterly frustrated and angered  as a result.

Brilliant job there Craig.

Bet you lot are fun on a night out.

They are our rivals, we had a pop, they responded, all light hearted.

Much better to be the weegie arse cheeks signing about 17th century religious wars...

Personally it didn’t go far enough.

Should have added in that Stendel was here to continue with the natural of ****ing Hibs and finishing above Jack Ross.

It’s about time the clubs started having a dig at each other. All this respect the rivalry shite makes me feel like I’ve ate too many bars of tablet. Have a pop at the scummy shite at every opportunity. Hibs tramps.

This.

Folk having a bleat about Budge taking the atmosphere at Tynie and then complaining when she has a little joke at the expense of our tiny neighbours whilst announcing a major managerial hire. Mad.

You mean failing to back up his words on the pitch? Yeah, I suppose you’re right.

Did he? What is his derby record? Don’t think that’s one of his failures, tbh.

In two minds about this.

One part of me says that I don't want to in any way legitimise Hibs by even referencing them.

It puts them on an even level which is something the club obviously doesn't merit (for reference, one of their key brags is about having floodlights). If Hearts have serious ambitions then they shouldn't even be on the radar.

The other part says, chill out, football is way too serious in an already very serious world.

Fair enough on the natural order stuff Kiwi but the cold fact is, we are currently on course to finish below them for a third season in a row.

I feel that if we want to be making points about 'natural order' then we should be getting our heads down, getting to work and showing it on the park.

After that, we can make all the digs on the official site that we like.

I judge Hearts on more than just how we do against that lot.

But yeah, he ‘got’ the Derby more than others did.

It probably wasn't even meant as a dig, just a badly worded continuation of the cosying up to the tramps. What was meant was something like 'Our managers will continue their friendly rivalry'.

Nearly every Hibs fan I've spoken to about Stendel follow up with the question who ?  All Hearrs have done is explain that's the guy that finished above Sunderland when Jack Ross was the manager.

Mentioning another manager and a league down south in our official statement when appointing our new manager, there's not enough facepalms for that. Utterly cringeworthy.

Pathetic and petty minded - that's what having a go at this statement is.

Yes it could have been worded more blandly... "Stendel will already be familiar with new Hibernian manager Jack Ross from their time in English League 1 with Barnsley and Sunderland respectively"  ... but the way they've done it saves the uninitiated from having to Google where those clubs finished in the promotion race. It doesn't mention Hibs, and it doesn't say that Ross will be a bad manager for them. If anything, it highlights the fact that the two men have been managing at a very similar level. It's not much of a slur.

In some ways, it would be a bit odd not to mention it. What connection does our new manager have with Scottish football? Absolutely none. Oh no, hang on - he's directly competed with a former Hearts employee who is now manager of our main rivals. Is it the words 'ahead of' that's cringeworthy? Should it have been 'competed with'? Perhaps - but we need at least a couple of facepalms for that level of pedantry on a good news day.

As I just replied - he's a legitimate (and indeed the ONLY) connection Stendel has to Hearts and to Scottish football. People are interested in that sort of background stuff (I know most of JKB is already aware, but others aren't).

The reaction is another example of people being 'too precious' these days

The reaction is being fueled by the media and of course social media on here and other fan/football sites

It's a throwaway comment which really did not have to be made but it's hardly worth the overboard reaction some of the press are giving it

Press need stories..any stories and will skew the statement to suit their agenda....what can appear a bit of fun is twisted as if someone has been accused of murder

Tom Hardy’s Dug

You’ll all remember that Jack Ross suggested he turned us down to go to Hibs to ingratiate himself to those inbred family ****ers when it was a blatant lie.

We have made a Jack Ross related dig and given the lack of moral standards the guy has and the disruption he caused at Hearts when he was with us, quite right too.

He’s lucky a club is prepared to touch him.

So honestly save the bleeding hearts for somebody that deserves it

Pathetic putting that in the statement. No need for it at all.

Always a need for it, far too long we’ve been to pally pally with those tramps, get a dig in at every opportunity to remind them that despite brief moments in time where they gather a couple of points more than us that this is our city and we have utterly ****ing dominated them for more than a century

Jack Ross was apparently a contender for the Hearts job so to state we have appointed a manager who finished above a candidate we looked at just says we think we got better. The fact he is at Hibs is easy to connect because they are supposed rivals and its current to our league.

Time will tell who the better manager will be but I think Stendel will be backed more by our club in what he wants to do than Ross will art Hibs unless they pony up.

If the situation had been reversed and we signed Ross and they had Stendel do you not think they would take great delight in informing everyone they thought they had the better manager. The EEN couldnt wait to say Ross chose Hibs over us. I dont recall you starting a thread complaining about that.

Every chance Hibs get to put one over on us they take it, through the EEN or their own site. Tash with his financial figures comparing them to us or the attendances fantasy they come out with, Aberdeen sang what a shi##y home support. Within hours it was in the EEN with average attendances showing hibs above Aberdeen. Any time you look at any of these stats click through pages on the EEN you know the only reason it is done is to try and show Hibs as the more successful club.

Now if you are not fooled by all the made up facts anyone will know Hearts are by far the more successful club. We have suffered a blip in the last few years after Vlad but make no mistake we will always be superior to Hibs and they know it.

Announcing our new manager was not the time to have a dig at Hibs.
