Over reaction/ double standard about time between managers

Is it just me or is there a ridiculous over reaction the the amount of time taken by the club to appoint a new manager?

Austin was made caretaker manager until an actual manager was appointed- this is common in football.

I expect some fans to lose their shit about this, (many will lose this shit over the slightest things) but the media and in particular supposed Hearts-friendly media have went into overdrive.

Graeme Murty has been Rangers' caretaker manager twice (for a month after Warburton, then two months after Caixinha before being formally made manager),

At any point did the media lose their shit over this? I don't remember it.

Would I prefer a new manager quickly? Yes, but having a caretaker is nothing new in football

The problem was the team was in free fall and (equal) bottom of the league

Let’s be honest here, if our results had been better you can bet your bottom dollar that Macphee would have got the gig.

him being so shit was a headache for Ann and the board.

If he had sin the last four games then he would have had a case to be considered but that was always very unlikely.

Only your biased beliefs would allow you to come to that conclusion.

And only your blinkers allow you to come to your conclusion.

the same blinkers that had you wanting Levein to remain.

Correct.

The narrative has been Ann Budge is clueless, lacks confidence in her our decision making and therefore is dithering about.

My suspicion is that once this deal is over the line, we’ll once again have our eyes opened to how diligent, driven, and single minded she has been to bring in our new manager.

I'll hold you to that when Stuart McCall is announced ::troll::

I think the manner of the capitulation at Kilmarnock destroyed any patience the fans had to allow the process to run it's course.

Any club would consider an interim manager the gets consistently good results. It’s all academic now though as he didn’t. 😎

Some were in a panic after that for some reason. 😄

We can't have someone who continually advocates communication and then abandons that same principal when it suits.

There's communication and then there's communication. You should have emailed her every morning. She may have forwarded you her daily itinerary.

Let’s hope that is the case and her future decision making is not based on a personal relationship that clouded her judgement.

Mikey Stewart, Gary MacKay & Alan Preston hate Levein and for as long as he’s at Hearts they will find an angle to have a go at Ann Budge and the club, the current narrative is too implicate his presence at the club as the reason for the delay. Which is clearly bull shit.

Willie Miller hates Hearts always has and will use any made up shite to have a pop at us!

The papers need a story, Celtic and Rangers are pissing the league so that’s not news, so it’s open season on us.

I heard them say last night they know nothing about Stendal but it’s fashionable to have a German coach, advocate Jack Ross as the perfect candidate only for Tom English to piss on their chips... so cornered on that one it was back to Levein bashing.

Make no mistake they are desperate for Stendal to fail so they can get stuck into Budge and keep the Levein ruined the club story going.

Superb Post and I have been thinking the same.

We as club/fans better prepare ourselves for the usual narrative from the media regarding Stendal.  Its been all to easy of late for these pundits to have a go at the club and the players. Now is the time as fans we need to get behind the team. Leave your booing, hounding players etc at the door and just get behind the team like the good old days.

They are trying to paint Budge as a dithering auld granny

Some will likely be disappointed that we seem to be getting our man as it will possibly delay the great unthroning.

She was absolutely correct to keep quiet about this deal until signed, in fact as far as I'm aware she still hasn't said anything.

Agreed!

To suggest otherwise is a "Pinocchio" take on it.

If I could be bothered trawling back over I would but I’m content in the knowledge you were. 👍

I'm content in the knowledge that if someone doesn't agree wholly with the biased tripe you spout, you automatically assume they are saying the polar opposite.

Nelly Terraces

With performances & results getting worse over a 3 year period to the current point that the club sits in the relegation zone & has lost its last 2 games by an aggregate 8-0 scoreline it's only natural that the fans of ANY club may start to be getting a tad impatient with the wait to bring in a new manager. Especially if the old proven failure of a manager has only been moved to another position in that club & not sacked altogether.

To go online & start a thread re the above situation IS a huge over reaction however as well as a willful, ignorant, disregard to that situation.

There is no defending the length of time taken here. Levein lasted months longer than be should have, the lack of planning by the board is almost difficult to believe

My issue was the 2 weeks we wasted interviewing people who should be getting interviews. If we had gone for Stendel from the outset he would be in by now (going on the basis he is on his way), and would have had the team better prepared for Ibrox and ready for Wednesday.

Dr Hindsight is always right, yet not clever enough to know everything without conducting research

Interviewing a number qualified candidates is obviously a sensible thing to do as part of any recruitment process.

Perhaps we learned from the process of interviewing the other candidates that none of them were deemed good enough... that's self-evidently what happened.
